CASIO AMERICA, INC. ANNOUNCES THE BT-9100,
NEW PC/POS POINT-OF-SALE TOUCH SCREEN TERMINAL
DOVER, NJ, June 10, 2009, — Casio, Inc., in conjunction with its parent company, Casio Computer Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, will formally introduced end of April at a series of Casio dealer meeting throughout the US and Canada the BT-9100 Touch Screen Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal to its’ expanding and powerful lineup of POS/ECR products. The BT-9100 provides software integrators and resellers a powerful hardware platform to address applications in Grocery, Convenience Stores, Hospitality and General Retail. The BT-9100 will be available at the end of May 2009.
The BT-9100 incorporates the latest in PC technology based on an Intel Celeron M 440 1.86GHz processor (equivalent to a Celeron 2.8GHz) to allow peripheral connectivity and the ability to run demanding software applications. A capacity of 1 GB of RAM (expandable to 2 GB) is provided along with a 80 GB 2.5” SATA hard drive. The BT-9100’s latest PC architecture provides retail and hospitality specific powered interfaces for scanners, scales, POS printers, customer displays, magnetic card readers, etc., via four RS232 ports (one with 5V DC Power), four USB (V2.0) ports, PS2 ports for keyboard and mouse, a CF card slot and a 1000 Base-T Ethernet port. The WEPOS operating system will be provided as standard on the BT-9100 and will also support Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista operating systems.
Furthermore, a 15-inch touch TFT screen with 1024 x 768 XGA resolutions affords a wider viewing angle for an easier entry operation via the graphical user interface. The BT-9100 unit also has the ability to support “The Extended Windows Display” (2nd Display) and it’s adjustable mount ensures the operators can easily navigate through the application at the touch of a finger, further reducing time at the Point-of-Sale.

A Celeron M 440 1.86GHz processor (equivalent to Celeron 2.8GHz) and standard 1GB (expand able to 2GB) of memory offer reliable and speedy process for growing businesses as well as flexible I/O ports, RS-232 com ports and USB ports for a variety of peripherals. The 80GB SATA hard drive provides plenty of storage capacity for demanding operations. Additionally, a built in sound (multi-media) and speaker system for effective sound assistance for the operator and customer is included, along with a high speed 1000-base-T Ethernet capability strengthens the communications functions and enhances operating friendliness.
