Point-and-Shoot Category

DOVER, NJ – March 23, 2005 – Casio, Inc., a leading innovator in digital cameras, was twice named a winner in the Point-and-Shoot category of the 9th Annual Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA) Digital Camera Shoot Out at the recent PMA 2005 Show held in Orlando, Florida. Casio's EX-P700 and EX-P505 digital cameras were both recognized in the point-and-shoot category – the EX-P700 won in the $500 to $599 category, and the EX-P505 in the digital Video Camcorder category.

The DIMA Awards recognize consumer technology products that exhibit excellence in overall quality of the digital print and accuracy of color as compared by the samples of fabric used in the studio. Participating camera manufacturers captured images in four live-model studios, and images from the point-and-shoot cameras were printed on three different digital mini-lab systems.

"Casio is honored to have two of our newest digital cameras acknowledged by DIMA in the point-and-shoot category," said John Clough, President of Casio Inc. "The DIMA Digital Camera Shoot-Outs put the EX-P700 and the EX-P505 to the test, and we stepped up to the plate with state-of-the art technology that delivers high image quality and performance."

Casio achieved those objectives through the use of Casio's remarkable "EXILIM engine," an extremely compact image module that represents the crystallization of Casio's advanced technology. The following two Casio products were among ten camera winners recognized in the DIMA Digital Camera Shoot-Outs:

EXILIM PRO EX-P505 (MSRP $499.99)

With the new EX-P505 you can now shoot videos and take quality digital photos. The EXILIM PRO EX-P505 is a high-performance digital camera with an amazing high-quality video capability. It features a 5X optical zoom, an imaging CCD with 5.0 mega effective pixels, Casio's "EXILIM engine", and a large 2-inch TFT color-rotating screen that makes angle shots a snap. It offers the same manual operation made famous by the EX-P600, as well as high-quality video shooting capability of 30 frames per second, in VGA size, thanks to the incorporation of MPEG-4 technology. The adoption of MPEG-4 technology enables full-scale high quality video shooting in VGA size (640 x 480 pixels) at 30 frames per second. "Movie BEST SHOT" allows the user to select from sample scenes for a wide range of shooting styles. "Short Movie" lets users film short movies during a single shutter, while other shooting and editing functions such as "MOTION PRINT" can be used to obtain a still image from a movie.

EXILIM PRO EX-P700 (MSRP $549.99)

The 7 megapixel EXILIM PRO EX-P700 is a Pro/Consumer digital camera that matches all the advanced features you will ever need with the standard EXILIM ease-of-use features found in other Casio digital cameras. The EX-P700 offers a 4X optical zoom (coupled with 4X digital zoom), combined with a large 2.0-inch LCD screen, offering users high performance. With its amazing 7.2 million megapixel CCD, and fast-response design, this high-end digital camera assures a new level of imaging capability. It's full array of functions and features, such as the Business Shot setting, allowing the user to take a trapezoidal distorted picture of a projector, white board, document or business card from a side angle and correct it to a rectangle automatically, also raise the bar one notch higher in terms of usability.
