CASIO’S GREEN SLIM @ ONE YEAR: TRANSFORMING DIGITAL PROJECTION WITH INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY

LASER & LED HYBRID Light Engine Brings High Brightness, Durability and Better Color Range to Digital Projection

LAS VEGAS, JANUARY 6, 2011 -Casio’s GREEN SLIM line has transformed digital projection by delivering eco-friendliness, low cost of ownership and high-brightness output.

Introduced to rave reviews at 2010’s CES, Casio’s  LASER & LED HYBRID light engine broke ground by demonstrating its ability to produce high brightness, up to 2500 lumens, without a traditional mercury lamp. With an estimated life of 20,000 hours up to 10 years at five hours per day and 10x mercury lamps, the first GREEN SLIM models delivered spectacular high- brightness images in typical projection environments like classroom training and game environments. The units also were demonstrated to great fanfare at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in LA in June.

Since then Casio has built on these achievements, recently announcing that it has increased brightness up to 3000 lumens. At that level, the GREEN SLIM projects large, vibrant images in the board room or classroom. It also achieves a 50-percent increase in color spectrum compared with mercury-lamp projectors, and the Instant Off capability does away with cool-down time when switched off.

“We can now satisfy the lumen requirements of the most demanding data projector application, while eliminating the need for hazardous mercury lamps,” said Frank Romeo, vice president of Casio’s Business Projector Division. “Take that together with its portability, high-performance output and low cost of ownership, and we expect the momentum behind these and future models to carry Casio far into the business, education, digital signage and pro AV markets in 2011.”
