XW-P1 Redefines Industry Standards with Unprecedented Sound and Performance Features

DOVER, NJ (MAY 25, 2012) — Casio America, Inc. is proud to announce that the XW-P1 Performance Synthesizer is the recipient of the Key Buy Award presented by Keyboard magazine. As one of the music industry’s most respected publications, Keyboard magazine features the most innovative musical instruments and music technology products. Casio has received the Key Buy Award four times in the last four years for a number of its keyboards including: the PX-330, PX-3, WK-7500 and now the XW-P1. The XW-P1, recently reviewed in the June issue, received a Key Buy Award for its versatility, sound, feature set and incomparable price point.

Casio Synthsizer XW-P1Key Buy Award winners are selected throughout the year by the editors of Keyboard magazine. New products are reviewed and those that meet the Keyboard magazine standards are placed in the Key Buy Award contenders’ bracket. The editors then work together to select the winners based on the following criteria:

  • The product represents a genuine technological breakthrough
  • At press time, it’s the best product in its class
  • It offers more bang-for-your-buck that’s better than what anyone would expect

“We are truly honored to win such a prestigious award from Keyboard magazine,” said Stephen Schmidt, vice president of Casio’s Electronic Musical Instruments Division. “With unprecedented sound quality and performance features, the XW-P1 enables musicians of varying levels to express themselves and enjoy music like never before – it simply goes beyond sound.”

With nine tracks for drums, basses, synths and chordal parts, four controller tracks for adding panning, filter changes and other animation to existing parts and eight patterns that make up each sequence; the user can build and mix on the fly. Sequences can even transpose live from the keyboard, providing a completely interactive experience. The XW-P1 also features a step sequencer, as well as a six oscillator monophonic solo synth that utilizes Casio’s Hybrid Processing Sound Source.

According to Keyboard magazine, “The XW-P1 is a clear Key Buy for its excellent sound, solid arpeggiator and sequencers, delightfully insane ancillary features, light physical weight, and low price.”

The XW-P1 is now available with an MSRP of $699.99. To view the XW-P1 review from Keyboard magazine, please visit
