Vivid Baby-G Shares the Stage with Popular New Artist

DOVER, NJ, MAY 26, 2010 — Australian singer/songwriter and guitarist Orianthi is new on the music scene, having released her first album, “Believe” at the end of 2009 featuring the hit single “According To You.” However, her talent, style and cool attitude are already driving the latest trends for the season and Casio America, Inc. is proud to announce that she will be wearing the company’s Vivid Baby-G (BG169R-1B) watch while strumming her guitar in the upcoming video for “Shut Up and Kiss Me.”  Orianthi joins an impressive list of artists rocking Casio timepieces, including Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Fergie, Jordin Sparks and Kristinia DeBarge.

“Shut Up and Kiss Me” is the latest release from Orianthi’s chart-climbing album Believe. The video establishes Orianthi as the star she is – a unique musician, representing a pop and rock sound, who can play guitar like no one else.  “Shut Up and Kiss Me” features a strong beautiful woman on a motorcycle coming to the rescue of a stranded man.  The two later share a first kiss at a romantic location overlooking the city.

“We are excited to have Orianthi representing Baby-G through her music video,” said Shigenori Itoh, vice president of Casio’s Timepiece Division. “Orianthi embodies the Baby-G brand as she packs modern girl-power into her music and style.”

Orianthi turns on the glam in the latest video, accessorizing her wrist with Casio’s Vivid Baby-G (BG169R-1B) style featuring a whole new color palette – a glossy black watch with a splash of pink on the digital face. The watch comes with metallic dials, world time zones in 30 cities and 5 daily alarms, matching LCDs, and is also shock resistance and water resistance for up to 200 meters.

The pop/rock sensation has been playing guitar for nearly 20 years and at the age of 25 has already worked with music legends such as Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton and Prince. Orianthi was handpicked by Michael Jackson to be lead guitarist for his comeback concert series, “This Is It.” Signed with 19 Recordings/Geffen Records, her first single, “According To You” has reached the Top 10 in the U.S., Japan and her native, Australia, and was just released in Europe.  The music video has over 5 million views to date.

The Vivid Baby-G (BG169R-1B) has an MSRP of $79 and is available at select Macy’s stores nationwide.  For additional product information or to check out Orianthi’s latest video,“Shut Up and Kiss Me,” visit
