CASIO AMERICA RELEASES NEW ANDROID POS TERMINAL FOR THE RETAIL AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

DOVER, NJ, July 27, 2012 — Casio America, Inc. today announced the release of its new POS product, the V-R100. The V-R100 will be exhibited in Casio’s booth (#420) during the RetailNOW at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas July 29 – August 1, 2012.

The V-R100 is the first Android based product to be introduced specifically for the POS industry. The V-R100 is equipped with a 10.4” adjustable color touch screen, an attached high speed thermal printer, Ethernet port, serial ports and a built-in swivel 2X20 customer display.

Casio is offering resellers the “best of both worlds” in the POS industry with the V-R100. The V-R100 offers both an “embedded” application and an open platform. The embedded application is Casio’s own powerful application with new features – all designed for hospitality and retail applications. The “open” platform will allow ISV’s (independent software vendor) to develop and run their Android platform software on the V-R100.

This leading edge, state of the art Android technology on the V-R100 POS terminal provides resellers the added advantages of reliability (no hard drive, no cooling fan and running off flash ROM technology), flexibility (embedded and open platform software applications) and security (Android provides a secure software platform).

Highlights of Casio’s embedded application include a customer loyalty database file, a reservation application, the ability to e-mail reports (to mobile devices), along with Casio's standard table service and quick service software.

On the open platform side of the V-R100, Casio provides a software development kit (SDK) to POS software companies. The open platform side of the V-R100 allows the terminal to leverage a variety of software applications to run on the V-R100, which are designed for a variety of businesses.
