CASIO AND CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF MANHATTAN AWARDS A PATERSON, NJ  MOM WITH A SPECIAL PRIZE PACK FOR MOTHER’S DAY

Marianela Perez & son, Ivan Were Entered in A Sweepstakes During CMOM Weekend Workshops

DOVER, NJ, May 10, 2009 — Casio America, Inc., along with the Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), are proud to announce the winner of a weekend workshop sweepstakes contest, which took place on Sunday April 26th and Sunday May 3rd. Using the new Dynamic Photo function found in Casio’s newest digital camera model, the EXILIM EX-S12, the one-of-a-kind workshops allowed parents to use new digital technology to insert their children into their own works-of-art and print out the picture for a unique Mother’s Day gift.

Six-year old, Ivan Malave’s picture was randomly selected and awarded a Casio Power Pack, which includes the brand new EX-S12, featuring Dynamic Photo, a camera carrying case, a memory card and Casio lanyard.

Using the new Dynamic Photo function found in the EXILIM EX-S12 digital camera, parents took a picture of their child and cut and placed them into their Mother’s Day artwork, with no computer editing needed.  The high-speed image-processing capability of the camera also allows for a mini- movie to be created, as a moving subject can be cut out and combined with a still image for a creative flick.

“It has been a privilege to work with the Children’s Museum of Manhattan over the past month,” says Toshiyuki Iguchi, Senior General Manager of Casio’s Digital Imaging Division at Casio America, Inc. “Together we have allowed children to use their imagination and become a part of their artwork. The EX-S12’s easy-to-use Dynamic Photo mode has provided a memorable keepsake for both parents and their children.”

Last month, Casio and CMOM hosted Picture This!, a program that encouraged children to leverage some of the latest technology available to find new ways to express themselves and think outside the box. The workshop provided parents the chance to learn other ways the EX-S12 could be used to create cost-saving items like birthday cards, holiday greetings and more.

CMOM is a leader in creating and implementing innovative and engaging programs that reach a wide audience of children and families. The museum presents workshops, exhibitions and performances created by a team of professionals and scholars to provide educational opportunities that help children from diverse ethnic, economic and cultural backgrounds develop their minds during their most formative years.
