TO INSERT THEMSELVES INTO INCREDIBLE IMAGES Program Encourages Children to Bring in Their Favorite Storybook or Create Artwork Then Use Casio’s Dynamic Photo Function to Make Photo Keepsakes DOVER, NJ, April 6, 2009 — Casio America, Inc., along with the Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) are proud to announce Picture This!, a program that allows children to use new digital technology to insert themselves into an extraordinary image and print it out to keep. On Wednesday, April 15, 2009, children are encouraged to bring in their favorite storybooks or create a work of art at the event, where a trained technician will merge the children’s hand drawn artwork or favorite story book image into a photo to be printed out and taken home. The whole process is quick, easy and allows for long-lasting enjoyment. The Picture This! program and photo printing is free with paid admission to CMOM. Casio America, Inc. is sponsoring the program to showcase the new Dynamic Photo function found in the EXILIM digital camera model, the EX-S12 which allows a subject to be “cut-and-placed” onto a different still background using just the camera, with no editing needed on a computer. Thanks to the high-speed image processing capability of the new camera, a moving subject can also be cut out and combined with a different still image for a creative mini-movie. “We are very excited to partner with the Children’s Museum of Manhattan,” said Bill Heuer, Vice President of Sales for Digital Imaging Division at Casio America, Inc. “The Dynamic Photo function allows for a unique picture taking experience, allowing children’s artwork to come to life.” “Every child possesses an innate ability to be imaginative and creative, and Picture This! will truly inspire them to take their imagination to new heights,” said Andrew Ackerman, Executive Director, Children’s Museum of Manhattan. “We are extremely grateful to Casio America, Inc. for their help in offering an exciting new way to encourage creativity and help our children make something that is really amazing.” In developing Picture This! Casio and CMOM wanted to encourage children to leverage some of the latest technology available to find new ways to express themselves and think outside the box. The workshop will also be an opportunity for parents to learn other ways the EX-S12 can be used to create cost-saving items like birthday cards, holiday greetings and more! CMOM is a leader in creating and implementing innovative and engaging programs that reach a wide audience of children and families. The museum presents workshops, exhibitions and performances created by a team of professionals and scholars to provide educational opportunities that help children from diverse ethnic, economic and cultural backgrounds develop their minds during their most formative years.
