CASIO COLLABORATES WITH MOLEQ TO DEVELOP SOFTWARE FOR A NEW ANDROID POS TERMINAL
VX-100's Open Platform Offers a Wide Range of Applications for the Grocery and Convenience Store Industry
DOVER, NJ, July 27, 2012 — As a leading point-of-sale (POS) system supplier, Casio America Inc is committed to pioneering new technologies that streamline efficiency and lower costs. Today, that commitment is even stronger due to Casio's business relationship with MoleQ Inc. – a New York based software developer. Casio enlisted MoleQ to create a feature-rich software application on the Android Operating System for its recently launched VX-100.

The VX-100 is the first Android based product to be introduced exclusively for the POS industry. The VX-100 is equipped with a 10.4" adjustable color touch screen, an attached high speed thermal printer, Ethernet port, serial ports and a built-in swivel 2X20 customer display.
“Casio's VX-100 really impressed us – we have been trying to find an ideal POS system for small retailers for a number of years,” said Andy Lau, CEO of MoleQ Inc. “Our software was designed solely for the VX-100 and provides a graphical user interface, in which all buttons support Casio's highly sensitive touch panel to deliver a quick response time during check out.”
Casio is offering resellers the “best of both worlds” in the POS industry with the VX-100. The VX-100 offers both an "embedded" application and an open platform. The embedded application is Casio's own powerful application with new features - all designed for hospitality and retail applications. The “open” platform will allow ISVs (independent software vendor) to develop and run their Android platform software on the VX-100.
The VX-100's open platform allows the terminal to leverage a variety of software applications, which are designed for a variety of businesses. Designed by MoleQ, MG-POS V2.0 is available using Casio’s open platform and is specifically designed for use in grocery and convenience store settings. With the implementation of MG-POS V2.0, the VX-100 offers an expanded list of features that include scanning and scale interfaces, item discounting, global price changes, age verification, item picture flip charts and tare tables with descriptions
