FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CASIO G-SHOCK GOES CRAZY WITH COLOR THIS SUMMER
Six New Spellbinding Color Combos with the Crazy Color Collection
DOVER, NJ, August 7, 2013 — G-SHOCK celebrates summer adventure with the release of their new Crazy Color collection; six bold colorways across two G-SHOCK watch models - the G8900 and DW6900 - that will compliment both your mood and style this summer.
To balance the rugged toughness of the G-SHOCK watch, the first of the two G8900 series Crazy Color is a brave pink and sky blue (model G8900SC-4), with darker watch face. This button detailing offsets its vibrancy and gives it an aesthetic that will be a reminder of the summer good times, as well as the accurate current time. The second Crazy Color styles are purple and green (G8900SC-6), that goes as far as getting you excited for the weekend barbeque, but stops just short of that all-night summer dance party. Both models are structured with dual-ladder straps for a secure fit and come equipped with 48-City World Time, Multi-Home times for four locations, 5 daily or one-time alarms, one of which can be set as a snooze alarm.
G-SHOCK is also releasing another four crazy colors within the popular DW6900 series, set off with dial treatments of metallic stars. The DW6900SC-1 features a white resin, black case with purple detailing and bold pink reverse LCD display surrounded by silver stars. The royal blue strap of the DW6900SC-4 is set against a vivid orange case and green reverse LCD display with tone-on-tone blue stars, while the DW6900SC-7 features a red dial face emblazoned with gold stars set in a white case with red strap. More subtle in its appearance, the DW6900SC-8 colorway sets a speckled dark-gray case and dial against a jet-black resin strap, with the soft purple reverse LCD display. For added intrigue, all six watches feature clear strap holders to complete their exclusive color schemes. Additional functionalities of the Crazy Color collection include Shock Resistance, Water Resistance up to 200 meters, 24-hour Countdown Timer, 1/100th stopwatch, 12/24 Hr Formats, and Flash Alert to visually notify you of an alarm during those hot summer nights.
“The Crazy Colors add an invigorating element of fun to two ever-popular watch models, while maintaining G-SHOCK’s underlying rugged performance ethos,” said Shigenori Itoh, Chairman and CEO of Casio's Timepiece Division. “We are excited for their release this summer season."
The Crazy Color men’s watches will retail at $110 for the two G8900 models, and $99 for the four DW6900 models. Available this August through selected fashion boutiques, key jewelers and the G-SHOCK NYC Soho store.
CASIO’s shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe’s dream of ‘creating a watch that never breaks’. Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as ‘the toughest watch of all time’. Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness. The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock, this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since it’s launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe’s mantra “never, never give up”. This 2013, G-SHOCK is celebrating their 30th anniversary.
