CASIO G-SHOCK KICKS OFF THEIR 30TH ANNIVERSARY

Never Stop Innovating

DOVER, NJ, (August 9, 2012) — On August 9th, 2012 Casio G-Shock will kick off a year-long celebration leading up to its 30th Anniversary. G-Shock is celebrating its advancements in timepiece technology and commitment to never stop innovating. To commemorate this milestone; we will pay tribute to the esteemed G-Shock history with a multimedia press conference, showcasing future collaborations and the newest additions to the product line. To cap off the conference, guests will enjoy an evening full of entertainment with exclusive performances by DJ Drama and Slaughterhouse.

It was a determined, young engineer, Kikuo Ibe, who believed that a watch didn’t have to be a fragile piece of jewelry. His vision was to create a watch that didn’t break even when dropped.Casio engineers took on the challenge of creating the world’s toughest watch.

The engineers conducted trial after trial under the “Triple 10” development concept aimed at 10 years of usage, 10-bar water resistance, and 10 meters of dropping shock resistance. These rigorous tests produced more than 200 prototypes over the course of two years, and in 1983 finally delivered the world’s toughest watch–the DW5000C. Over the past thirty years, its unique tough design, practicality and cutting edge technology has made G-Shock wildly popular.  

Over the next year, G-Shock will continue celebrating its 30 years by introducing more limited edition watch collaborations than ever before and introducing new technologically advanced timepieces.
