G-Shock and Pedro Barros Personify the Perfect Partnership of Performance, Durability, Power and Style

DOVER, NJ, (September 18, 2012) Casio America, Inc. is proud to announce the release of an exciting film featuring Brazilian pro skateboarder and G-Shock Athlete, Pedro Barros. Known for his power and style, Barros fearlessly destroys transition, whether pools, pipes or parks with epic speed. The MegaRamp® at Woodward West, located in the mountains of Tehachapi, CA, set the stage for a first-ever nighttime video shoot.

As the sun begins to set, Pedro, drops-in full speed again and again, charging the MegaRamp® without reservation and without fear Barros caught from every angle by helicopter while dropping-in drops in and soaring over forty feet from the flat-bottom below into the night sky, showcasing his incredible style and proving why he is G-Shock tough.

Although only 17-years old, Pedro’s skateboarding has already lead him to compete alongside powerhouse athletes like Bob Burnquist, Bucky Lasek, Jake Brown and Pierre Luc Gagnon to name a few. Recently winning the 2012 Dew Tour Bowl finals, Pedro has been on a tear, earning a gold medal in Superpark at the 2012 X-Games, taking first place at the 2012 Vans Pro-Tec Pool Party, and back-to-back wins at the Vans Bondi Bowl-A-Rama in Australia and Willington Bowl-A-Rama in New Zealand. While not in the throws of intense competition, Pedro enjoys skating his personal bowl conveniently in his own backyard, as well as surfing.

“Casio G-Shock is delighted to sponsor Pedro Barros,” said Shigenori Itoh, Chairman and CEO of Casio America, Inc. “His love for skating, commitment to the sport and innate style makes him a kindred spirit to G-Shock. We wish him continued success in the upcoming year and look forward to supporting his growth as an athlete.”

“Riding the mega ramp for the G-Shock shoot was an amazing experience,” said Pedro Barros “I had never ridden the mega ramp at night and I can say that G-Shock provided the perfect environment to make it happen. I was shocked to see a helicopter taking footage and the video came out awesome, I wanna do it again!”

Pedro joins a talented list of action sports athletes on the G-Shock roster. G-Shock recognizes their dedication to the action sports community and helps them to tap into reaching their full potential by providing rugged, technology driven timepieces that fit their needs.
