CASIO LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE FOR U.S. HEADQUARTERS
Redesigned Casio Website Makes It Easier for Consumers to Browse Products
January 30, 2005, Dover, NJ – Casio, Inc. has partnered with website development company Pipeline Interactive to launch a redesign of the company's U.S. website. The intention of the redesign was to respond to a consumer need, providing an easier browsing experience for visitors of all Casio brands, as well as to highlight company news. The new site can be accessed at www.casiousa.com.
Casio's global headquarters in Tokyo, Japan drove the re-launch concept. Pipeline worked in conjunction with Japan and U.S. headquarters in Dover, NJ to develop the site. The main objective of the undertaking was to provide a worldwide development platform for Casio. Platform standards were built around PHP and Microsoft SQL running on a Linux environment.
"Considering Casio's worldwide representation, it was important to create a website that was visual enough to engage any consumer, regardless of their language," said Michael McCormick, Manager of Interactive at Casio. "The new site is user friendly as well as visually appealing."
The new site features more in-depth product descriptions for Casio's divisions including: calculators, digital cameras, timepieces, cash registers, musical instruments, label and disc title printers, projectors, portable televisions and industrial devices. It includes a universal product finder where users can select a product category and then choose the subcategory that meets their needs.
Site development began in late September with the website launch taking place on January 3, 2006, to coincide with Casio's exhibit at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
