CASIO OUTFITS OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS WITH EXPANDED PATHFINDER LINE

Latest Model Offers Duplex LCD with Solar Triple Sensor Technology

New York, NY, August 2, 2010 - Casio’s Pathfinder line has become a trusted brand for those looking for a comfortable lightweight watch that can monitor nature’s moods. Whether individuals enjoy hiking, camping, mountain biking or hunting, Casio’s Pathfinder line has features that enhance one’s outdoor experience. Casio’s PAG240-1, PAG240B-2 and PAG240T-7 models are the latest additions to the Pathfinder line, equipped with advanced triple sensor technology which accurately monitors and measures changes in air pressure, temperature and the earth’s magnetic field.

Pathfinder, known for offering dependable and reliable functions, continues to make outdoor adventures seamless and enjoyable. With digital technology sure to keep enthusiasts on track, Casio combines a digital compass with a sporty duplex LCD display, responsible for delivering greater visibility when taking readings. With just a tilt of one’s wrist the Full Auto EL Backlight activates and operates by Casio’s reliable solar powered technology, allowing readings to be accomplished with ease. The directional pointers seem to float on the digital display while the rotating bezel allows for aligning with a map. The Pathfinder also boasts a handy thermometer to advise one of rapid temperature changes, an altimeter to indicate proper elevation levels which measures between-2,300 feet and 32,800 feet and a barometer to help forecast any impending storms while also displaying accurate atmospheric pressure.

“We are thrilled to expand the Pathfinder line with the addition of the PAG240 series,” said Shigenori Itoh, vice president of Casio’s Timepiece Division. “The Pathfinder’s Duplex LCD solar triple sensor technology offers the ultimate outdoorsman precision and reliability without comprising style and comfort.”

The PAG240 series is outfitted with a choice of distinguishing resin or two tone leather and cloth bands, blending classic style with high functionality. The PAG240-1 contains a unique aesthetically pleasing black resin band while the PAG240B-2 is available in black and blue two tone leather and cloth design. The PAG240T-7 has a titanium band. The timepieces are water resistant up to 100 meters and embody a strong mineral glass dial strong enough to withstand even the most adverse weather conditions. Distinctive button guards are strategically placed to prevent accidental operation of the sensors, amplifying the practicality of this timepiece.

The PAG240 series is built with low-temperature resistance to accommodate cold weather conditions. The timepiece includes additional features such four daily alarms, 1/100 second stopwatch, a countdown timer, world time in 48 cities, hourly time notification, 12/24 hour formats and one snooze alarm.

The Pathfinde’s one-touch triple sensor buttons lead to direct operation of sensors. This means no scrolling through menus to get the measurements you need quickly. Button guards prevent against accidental operation of sensors and enhance the practicality of the Pathfinder.  The large textured buttons allow for easy operation in various conditions even when the consumer is wearing gloves.

The Pathfinder PAG240 series will be available in October at select Tourneau and Kohl’s retailers nationwide. The PAG240-1 and PAG240B-2 models will have a MSRP of $250 and the PAG240T-7 will have a MSRP of $300. For more information on the Pathfinder models, visit http://pathfinder.casio.com/
