Casio To Install A Dedicated Digital Camera End-Cap Display
Inside More Than 500 Of Circuit City's 600 Plus Retail Locations

DOVER, NJ, October 5, 2004 – CASIO, Inc., a leading innovator in the digital camera market, is teaming up with Circuit City, one of the country's top electronics retailers, this fall to showcase its latest line of slim, stylish EXILIM Digital Cameras. Consumers will be able to choose from three different models: the 4-megapixel EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z40, which will be available in either Silver or Gold - the gold model being a Circuit City exclusive; the 3.2-megapixel EXILIM CARD EX-S100; and the 5-megapixel EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z55.

"We are pleased to partner with Circuit City as one of the leading retailers in the country and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship," stated John Clough, President of Casio Inc., "Casio's heritage as an innovator in the digital camera category will help Circuit City address the growing popular trend toward the sleek, ultra-compact segment."

Casio has begun installing a dedicated Digital Camera end-cap display inside more than 500 of Circuit City's 600 plus retail locations. These end-caps will feature the latest introductions from the award-winning EXILIM family of thin, stylish digital cameras. The end-cap design emphasizes that stylish look by utilizing stainless steel and blue-edge lit materials to compliment the all-metal construction of Casio's EXILIM Digital Cameras and highlight the cameras' ease-of-use. The displays can also be easily modified to show up to five digital cameras in the future.

"This move reflects the growing preference for ultra-thin and high-style cameras that offer high performance, extra long battery life while easily fitting inside a pocket or a purse," said Bre Holley, Vice-President of Casio's Digital Imaging Division "This joint venture brings Casio and Circuit City to the forefront of a rapidly growing consumer demand for thin, stylish cameras with large LCD screens."

The EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z40 is a 4-megapixel camera with a 3X optical zoom, a 2.0" TFT LCD screen and a battery life that allows up to 360 shots (based on CIPA* standards) to be taken on a single charge. It is currently available and retails for $349.99. The EXILIM CARD EX-S100 is a 3.2-megapixel camera and hails as the world's smallest digital camera (as of August 25, 2004) with an optical zoom (2.8X). It also features a 2.0" TFT LCD screen and is currently available for $399.99. The EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z55 is a 5-megapixel camera with a 3X optical zoom, a whopping 2.5" TFT LCD screen and a battery life that allows up to 400 shots to be taken on a single charge (based on CIPA* standards). The EX-Z55 is also currently available and retails for $449.99.

*CIPA standard "Standard Procedure for Measuring Digital Still Camera Battery Consumption":

Until recently there has been no standard measurement for battery life. This has resulted in inconsistencies between camera products and their catalogs and instruction manuals. As of December 2003, CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association) established the Standard Procedure for Measuring Digital Still Camera Battery Consumption, and hopes to reduce confusion among consumers by having this adopted by the world's digital camera manufacturers and retailers.
