G-Shock Returns To Huntington Beach, California For Their Eighth US Open Of Surfing

DOVER, NJ, July 31, 2014 —Casio G-SHOCK adds toughness, innovation and style to the sport of surfing for the eighth year in a row with the world renowned surfing competition:The US Open of Surfing.The event takes place at Huntington Beach, California from July 26th – August 3rd, 2014.

During the nine-day intensive event, CasioG-SHOCK will present various on-site activations including timekeeping for the surf, skate and BMX competitions, as G-SHOCK is the official watch sponsor of the US Open of Surfing. There will also be a unique #NEVERBLENDIN award which will honor a strong performance of the day within each of the contest disciplines.In addition, G-SHOCK team riders will be on location for autograph sessions at the G-SHOCK booth as well as competing in the surf and skate competitions.

The focal point of the US Open of Surfing and G-SHOCK partnership will take place on the grounds of the legendary Huntington Beach Pier, as there will be a massive G-SHOCK watch. The GDX6900CM camouflage timepiece will play timekeeper for each of the surf heats and more, letting riders know who much time is left to catch their waves and pull some high-scoring maneuvers, paving the way for victory.

Between competitions and over the course of the event, attendees will have an opportunity to visit the G-SHOCK booth and check out all the latest G-SHOCK watches including their #NEVERBLENDIN Camo collection and the newly released G-LIDE tide graph series as well as a host of other tough watches.While in the booth, visitors can play the legendary G-SHOCK ‘Tough Toss Game’. The game allows visitors to directly experience the unique Shock and Water-Resistance capabilities of G-SHOCK watches by throwing them into containers of water for a chance to win prizes.

The US Open of Surfing brings the best surfers in the world to California-including G-SHOCK athletes, Yaden Nicol (AUS) and Malia Manuel (HAW) as well as World Bowlriding Champion and X-Game Gold Medalist, Pedro Barros (BRS), who will all be competing and hosting autograph signings throughout the event. Autograph signing sessions with the G-SHOCK athletes will take place at the G-SHOCK booth Friday, August 1st through Sunday, August 3rd.

The Vans US Open of Surfing will kick-off on July 26th – August 3rd 2014 at Huntington Beach, California. The event, which draws massive crowds each year is a free-of-charge, open event to the public.
