G-SHOCK X DGK COLLABORATION

Toughness and Technology Infused With DGK Feel

New York, NY, August 2, 2010 – G-Shock has teamed up skate brand DGK to create a timepiece to fill the void for rugged watches with skateboarders in mind. Founded by professional street skateboarder Stevie Williams, DGK is best known for its irreverent style and groundbreaking designs. The GX56DGK-1 fuses that eclectic approach with the most shock resistant watch in G-Shock history.

The G-Shock X DGK watch commands attention with its royal purple and black colorway. Complete with a reverse purple LCD, the GX56DGK-1 features a new triple density, triple layer structure for peak performing shock resistance. Two layers of hard urethane protect against external shock, while a inner third layer of soft urethane that expands and contracts as pressure is applied to absorb impact on the inside.

"Casio G-Shock is a timeless brand that fits perfectly into my everyday life – from skating to business to just hanging out," said Stevie Williams, Pro Skater and Founder of DGK. "The DGK x G-SHOCK collaboration was a natural fit – I like that it's edgy with a classic design. This watch keeps me on point and on time, everywhere I go."

To minimize the chance of detachment when the watch is dropped, lug screws securely fasten the band to case and the buckle to band for added protection. In addition to unrivaled shock resistance, the GX56DGK-1 features advanced Self-Charging, Tough Solar Power technology for unwavering reliability.

Self-Charging, Tough Solar Power - A tiny, solar panel combined with a large-capacity rechargeable battery enables a variety of energy-hungry functions to operate smoothly. The result is an impressive solar timepiece that assures reliable timekeeping and greatly reduces the need for battery change.

"G-Shock is pleased to collaborate with Stevie Williams and the DGK Brand," said Shigenori Itoh, Vice President of Casio's Timepiece Division. "With its fashion-forward large case and new a level of shock resistance that skateboarding requires, the GX56DGK-1 truly continues in the G-Shock Tradition of Toughness and Technology with the unforgettable DGK style."

Additional G-Shock X DGK features include: Mud Resistance, Full Auto EL Backlight, World Time (31TZ/48 City + UTC), 4 Daily Alarms and 1 Snooze Alarm, Hourly Time Signal, 1/100th Sec. Stopwatch, Countdown Timer, 12/24 Hr. Formats, Battery Power Indicator, Power Saving Function and Mineral Glass face for increased scratch resistance.

The GX56DGK-1 retails for $160 and will be available in December 2010 at select skate shops, fashion boutiques and www.gshock.com.
