Casio Ups the Ante with Newest Addition to Pathfinder Line

LAS VEGAS, NV, MAY 30, 2009 — Whether you are braving the great outdoors for a hike, run or fishing trip, there is one tool you will not want to be without.  Casio’s newest addition to the Pathfinder line, the PAW2000-1/PAW2000T-7, is every outdoorsman’s companion as it encompasses many essential tools required for a day of maximum activity and high energy.  This new watch will be on display at Casio’s Booth #25049 at the JCK Show that opened in the Sands Convention Center today.

The PAW2000-1/PAW2000T-7 is 100M water resistant and features a Duplex LCD Display, which allows for greater visibility while using the digital compass.  The new Pathfinder has built-in sunrise and sunset data, allowing the wearer to forecast the sunrise and sunset.  Fishermen and hunters will utilize the sunrise feature to get an early start to their activities while hikers will welcome the sunset feature to let them know when to call it a day.  These features, combined with the traditional Pathfinder triple sensor technology which includes a digital compass, altimeter, barometer and thermometer, make this the ultimate adventure-seeking Pathfinder.  The lightweight titanium or resin bands are extremely durable and comfortable which makes it the perfect tool for all outdoor excursions.

The Pathfinder features Casio’s innovative non-stop, self-adjusting technology, tough solar power and Waveceptor Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping Technology, meaning no more worries of changing the time for daylight saving time or leap years.  With the Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping feature, this timepiece automatically synchronizes with Coordinated Universal Time broadcast continuously by stations linked to atomic clocks located in the US, Germany, the UK, China and two in Japan based on the user's home city setting. These timepieces receive this signal several times during each 24-hour period, resulting in outstanding accuracy.  Tough solar power adds to the Pathfinder’s efficiency as this feature is a unique power saving function and allows the timepiece to energize itself through even the lowest level of illumination; natural, solar or artificial.

“We are very excited to showcase our newest addition of the Pathfinder series at JCK,” said Shigenori Itoh, Vice President of Casio’s Timepiece Division. “The Pathfinder’s LCD display makes it easy to navigate in any condition and its slim styling provides a comfortable feel for every man’s wrist.”

The Pathfinder’s one-touch triple sensor buttons lead to direct operation of sensors. This means no scrolling through menus to get the measurements you need quickly. Button guards prevent against accidental operation of sensors and enhance the practicality of the Pathfinder.

The PAW2000-1 is available in black resin at select Macy’s stores for the MSRP of $350. The same Pathfinder model is also available with a titanium band, model PAW2000T-7 at select Macy’s stores for the MSRP of $450.  Both models will be available in the fall.
