Casio G-Shock Sponsors Christmas Celebration

DOVER, NEW JERSEY, DECEMBER 13, 2013 — In celebration of the holiday season, G-SHOCK partnered with Republic Records to throw a festive holiday party for the label.

Held at Toro, in New York City’s Meatpacking District, Republic Records and G-SHOCK hosted a star-studded room filled with musicians, key music executives and Republic Records employees. G-SHOCK watches were on display throughout the venue and Casio representatives were on hand to give away G-SHOCK and Baby-G watches to celebrities and guests.

Celebrities were also encouraged to take photographs in the G-SHOCK signature photo booth and step–and–repeat.

In attendance were some of the biggest names in music and acting today: Enrique Iglesias, Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone, Martin Garrix, Adrian Grenier (Entourage), SoMo, Busta Rhymes, Until the Ribbon Breaks, Betty Nguyen, and Orange is the New Black’s breakout stars Dascha Polanco and Diane Guerrero.

CASIO’s shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe’s dream of ‘creating a watch that never breaks’. Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as ‘the toughest watch of all time’. Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness. The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe’s mantra “never, never give up”. This 2013, G-SHOCK is celebrating their 30th anniversary.
