Casio's Graphing and Scientific Calculators Offer a Comprehensive Feature-Set Ideal for Tackling Tough Equations

DOVER, NJ, March 13, 2015 – Pi Day is an annual holiday celebrated around the world on March 14th and as a leader and pioneer in the education space, Casio America, Inc., is encouraging educators and students to celebrate the day with its extensive portfolio of education tools. Casio’s line up of scientific and graphing calculators are designed with special features that enable students to excel in the classroom.

“At Casio, we are committed to providing today’s youth with the effective and enhanced learning tools that will allow them to excel in mathematics, which can sometimes be perceived as a very challenging subject,” said, Yuji Sasajima, Vice President of Casio’s Consumer Products Division.” The celebration of Pi Day reinforces to students that learning is fun and Casio’s bright scientific and graphing calculators are ideal tools to help them solve the most difficult Pi equations in a fun and constructive way.”

For decades Casio has dedicated itself to math education by developing forward-thinking calculators that enhance the learning experience. Whether it is a basic scientific calculator for students in a freshman math class or a hi-tech graphing calculator for college students in a statistics course, Casio’s expanded portfolio of calculators help outfit students at every level. They also come in a fun array of colors that enable students to express their personal style.

Scientific Calculators:
Casio’s scientific calculators provide enhanced technological features necessary to solve including fractions to algebraic equations and more. The key fraction and scientific calculators in Casio’s line include the fx-260 and fx-300ES PLUS. The fx-260 is an all-purpose scientific calculator with 144 built-in functions, available in pink and black. It is small enough to fit in a student’s pocket but strong enough to solve polynomial and trigonometric equations.

Available in pink, black and blue, the fx-300ES PLUS is a standard scientific calculator designed for middle school and high school students who are focusing on General Math, Trigonometry, Statistics, Algebra I and II, Pre-Algebra, Geometry, and Physics.

Graphing Calculators:
Casio’s graphing calculator line up includes the fx-9860GII and the fx-9750GII. The fx-9860GII, available in pink and black, is a perfect tool for secondary education students. In addition to the standard features of an entry-level graphing calculator, the fx-9860GII has an enlarged display with an optional LCD backlight for ease of view. Designed for grades six through twelve, this calculator offers icon-based menus and a Natural Textbook Display that allows students to view expressions just like they would in a print book. The fx-9860GII also offers a wide variety of graphing tools such as a built-in spreadsheet that can be used for plotting points on a graph or entering x-data and y-data in a table.

The fx-9750GII, available in pink and black, has all of the standard features of an entry-level graphing calculator and can be used by students and educators in middle school, high school and even college. Its icon-based menu is easy to navigate and the soft-menus make it easy to access functionality for common tasks. The software design facilitates students’ grasps of mathematical concepts by encouraging student engagement with mathematics, rather than the memorization of keys. In addition, the fx-9750GII is permitted for use on all major exams.

Casio’s scientific and graphing calculators including the fx-260, fx-300ES Plus, fx-9750GII and fx-9860GII, range from $8.99 to $79.99. For additional information on Casio’s complete portfolio of calculators, please visit www.CasioEducation.com
