What is a lumen? A lumen is a measure of brightness. More lumens means a brighter image. This is important because you can view the image without needing to turn out the lights in the office or boardroom. You may see references to "ANSI lumens". Figures stated in ANSI lumens are derived using an industry standard procedure for testing projectors. ^Top What is keystone correction? If a projector is positioned above, below, or to the sides of a screen, the image will look wider on one side, causing the image to look distorted. Keystone correction uses software within the projector to adjust for this by compressing the wider side. The listed degrees in the specifications show how far from off center this can be adjusted for. ^Top How many decibels are the projectors? All of our business projectors (including the new XJ-S30 and XJ-S35 models) operate at approximately 38 decibels. There is a low noise mode which reduces the brightness of the image and decibels by about 15% (20% for XJ-S30/XJ-S35). ^Top Can the projectors be mounted to a ceiling? Chief Manufacturing at http://www.chiefmfg.com produces mounting brackets for our projectors. Here are the mount part numbers for our projectors. | Model: | Bracket #: | | Casio XJ-350 | LCDA215C | | Casio XJ-360 | RPA116 | | Casio XJ-450 | RPA067 | | Casio XJ-560 | RPA067 | | Casio XJ-S30 | RPA169 | | Casio XJ-S31 | RPA209 | | Casio XJ-S35 | RPA169 | | Casio XJ-S36 | RPA209 | | Casio XJ-S41 | RPA209 | | Casio XJ-S42 | RPA209 | | Casio XJ-S46 | RPA209 | | Casio XJ-S47 | RPA209 | | Casio XJ-S52 | RPA209 | | Casio XJ-S57 | RPA209 | | Casio XJ-SC210 | RPA209 | | Casio XJ-SC215 | RPA209 | The XJ-450 is a invertible projector, so the mount is on the bottom of the projector and the projector gets inverted on the ceiling. The XJ-350 is a non-invertible projector, but does have negative keystone correction, so the mount is more like a wrap around shelf. They both are mounted on 1 1/2" NPT pipes from the ceiling.^Top Why can I only get output on the projector, or the computer, not both? Some laptop or notebook computers require you to press one or more keys to tell the computer that you want to output to an external monitor or projector. There is often a key marked [Function] or [Fn] that is pressed in conjunction with another key to do this. The key combination can vary between different manufacturers or models, so refer to your computer's documentation for more details. Also, check the resolution of the computer. If it is set outside the range of the projector, you can not display on both. The computer may be set for widescreen format, like 1280x768. ^Top Which Kensington lock fits my projector? Please call Kensington at 800-235-6708 or send E-mail to compatibility@kensington.com for compatibility information. ^Top How do I change language on the XJ360? Power on the projector, then pick up your remote control and do the following: 1. Press the MENU key on the remote control. 2. You should see a menu with six options. Select the fourth option from the top (Detailed Settings), and then press the ENTER key. 3. You should see another menu with nine options. Select the third option from the top (Language), and then press the ENTER key. 5. You should see a list of languages. Select the desired language, and then press the ENTER key. ^Top What is DLP System? DLP System - Image display system employing the digital micro-mirror device (DMD) chip developed by Texas Instruments through the application of its Digital Light Processing technology. Allows you to reproduce the actual colors in images and achieve vivid, high-definition projection, even on a large screen. Will also allow you to maintain a more stable image quality without color blurring or deterioration with time. ^Top What video formats are supported for playback from a USB flash memory drive on XJ-S35/YP-100? You may put a USB flash drive in the projector and try to select USB, but then the projector skips the option as if there were no USB flash drive present. This means the USB flash drive isn't being detected by the projector. This problem would be caused by one of two things: 1. The USB flash drive is incompatible or formatted incorrectly. 2. There could be a faulty USB port on the projector. Check the brand of USB flash drive you are using. If it is possible, try another USB flash drive, since sometimes it is the flash drive that is not compatible. If the presentation works on a different flash drive, then you can be fairly certain that the fault is with the flash drive and not the projector's USB port. Reformatting the flash drive sometimes resolves the problem. ^Top Office 2007 and EZ-Converter Office 2007 is not compatible with early versions of the EZ-Converter software. Even files converted to an older version of Office (through the 2007 version) will not work. A newer version of EZ-Converter is available that supports PowerPoint 2007 files, as well as EZ-Converter PRO for use with files from other Office 2007 applications. These can be downloaded by going to the following link: http://world.casio.com/projector/download/en/ ^Top POWER and LAMP indicators are steady red, and projector won't power on. How do I reset the lamp timer? If the POWER and LAMP indicators are steady red, then the lamp life has exceeded 2100 hours, and the user cannot power on the projector. First, be sure that the lamp has been replaced with a new one. Then, while the projector is plugged in, use one of the following procedures to reset the lamp timer: XJ-360: While holding down the projector's [AUTO] key, hold down the [INPUT] key for about five seconds. All other models: While holding down the projector's left directional key, hold down the [AUTO] key for about five seconds. The POWER indicator should change from red to amber, and the LAMP indicator should go out. The user should then be able to power on the projector normally. ^Top Problems installing EZ-Converter and Wireless Connection from XJ-S35 CD on a PC with Windows Vista. The versions of EZ-Converter and Wireless Connection packaged with the XJ-S35 are not compatible with Windows Vista. The installation process will appear to work, and a few files are written to the hard drive, but the executable programs aren't written, and the shortcut icons won't appear. If installation was attempted, then you can go through the normal uninstall process to remove the few files that were created. Newer versions of these applications that support Windows Vista are available for download. ^Top | | |
