G-SHOCK launches the new REMASTER BLACK series: An iconic All Black design with model names of previous G-SHOCK milestones
G-SHOCK's 40th Anniversary
Norderstedt, 18 April 2023 — In the series of 40th Anniversary models, G-SHOCK today celebrates its latest release: the REMASTER BLACK series. The watches have a strap on which the names and launch year of past G-SHOCK Masterpieces are immortalized.

From more than 4200 models launched over the past 40 years, G-SHOCK has selected 49 watches that reflect the most innovative advances in structure, function, materials and design that the brand has achieved over time. These model names are imprinted on the REMASTER BLACK strap by means of a hot stamping process in which the lettering is pressed into the strap to create a textured, indented effect. The overall design is in G-SHOCK-branded black and is accented by a gold-tone stainless steel strap loop.
These new watches are based on four popular models: the DW-5600, which bears the iconic design of the very first G-SHOCK; the DW-6600, the first backlit G-SHOCK; the GA-110 analogue-digital combination; and the GA-2100 with its unique octagonal bezel. The new DWE-5657RE, based on the DW-5600, comes with an interchangeable round DW-5700 bezel to combine two different looks in one timepiece.
In addition to the anniversary logo engraved on the caseback, three models feature a star engraved on the button at the bottom left of the case and the GA-114RE at the 40-minute mark on the watch crystal. On both the DWE-5657RE and DW-6640RE, the anniversary logo appears when the backlight is on.
The bezel and strap are made of bio-based resin, which have a lower environmental impact. The newly developed modules used in the DWE-5657RE and DW-6640RE offer bright LED backlighting and a five-year battery life. The special packaging of these models is made of recycled paper.

About G-SHOCK
G-SHOCK was born from the idea and desire to create an indestructible watch. CASIO's engineers followed the "Triple 10" concept, which included making sure the watch could survive a 10-meter drop, withstand 10 bars of water pressure, and last 10 years on a single battery. Since its launch in 1983, G-SHOCK has stuck to this concept and continued to perfect the G-SHOCK models through development. The cult brand made a name for itself worldwide in the fields of fashion, sports and music. As a testament to this success, G-SHOCK is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
