CASIO presents the first EDIFICE with mechanical movement

Norderstedt, July 15, 2025 – Casio Europe introduces a significant milestone in the brand's history with the new EDIFICE EFK-100 series. For the first time, a model in the sporty, technologically influenced EDIFICE series is equipped with a mechanical automatic movement with manual winding, making a clear statement for watch lovers who appreciate traditional watchmaking craftsmanship and modern materials.

Forged Carbon – High-tech material from the automotive world

For the black EFK-100XPB and EFK-100CD models, CASIO relies on a real highlight from motorsport: Forged Carbon – an extremely light and at the same time robust material that is used in high-performance vehicles. The random arrangement of carbon fibers creates a unique pattern on each case and dial, making each watch unique. In addition to the stainless steel version, the All-Black XPB presents itself with a sporty bracelet made of matt black resin and a folding clasp. 

The EFK-100D-2A, EFK-100D-3A and EFK-100D-7A models (collectively as EFK-100D) feature a dial with a realistic carbon look. The finely satin-finished stainless steel bracelet with polished edges harmonizes perfectly with the color design of the dials in green, blue and white.

Mechanism meets motorsport – a new era for EDIFICE

The EFK-100 combines the EDIFICE brand promise of "Speed & Intelligence" with an automatic movement that runs like a precisely working sports car engine with a power reserve of more than 40 hours. 24 rubies in the movement ensure low friction loss of the numerous metal parts and guarantee a long service life. The caseback provides a view of the finely tuned interior.

"Many car enthusiasts enjoy the feeling of control," explains Tadashi Kojima from product planning at CASIO. "A mechanical automatic movement with manual winding fits perfectly with this attitude to life – which is why it was important to us to integrate it into an EDIFICE model for the first time."

Compact design, strong effect

With a diameter of 39 mm, the EFK-100CD and the D models combine compact form with a striking presence. The EFK-100XPB has a diameter of 40 mm.

The combination of a simple bezel, three classic hands, date display and raised indices gives the watch a calm elegance. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal guarantees the best readability and underlines the premium appearance of the watch. With a water resistance of 10 bar, the EFK-100 is also ideally equipped for an active lifestyle.
