How much do I need to expose the watch to light for charging?

It depends on the model of your watch. Look at the back cover of your watch and find the three- or four-digit "module number". Next, click here for information about approximate required charging times for each module.

Though there is no need for battery replacement, is there any other periodic maintenance required?

Water-resistant models need to have their rubber seals replaced every two or three years in order to ensure proper water resistance.

Can I charge the watch under fluorescent light?

Yes. The watch should be able to keep on running as long as you keep it exposed to indoor and outdoor light as much as possible throughout the day.

What should I do when I do not plan to use the watch for a long time?

If you are going to leave the watch in a drawer or somewhere else where it will not be exposed to light, first charge it completely and turn on its power saving feature to ensure that battery power is conserved.

Is there anything I need to keep in mind during charging?

You should be able to achieve sufficient charging by ensuring that it is exposed to indoor and outdoor lighting as much as possible throughout the day. Note, however, that charging under very hot conditions, like the ones described below, can lead to malfunction or burn injury. o On the dash board of a car parked in the sun o Close to an incandescent light or some other source of intense heat o Any area exposed for long periods to direct sunlight Also note that charging efficiency is degraded if any part of the solar cell is blocked.

Why is there an indicator like RECOVER or RECOV (either flashing or steady) on the display of my watch?

This indicator appears to let you know that the battery is recovering after a large load is placed on it over a short period. All tones and the light are disabled during recovery. The indicator should disappear and normal operation should resume after battery voltage recovers. If the RECOVER/RECOV indicator appears frequently, it means that remaining battery power is low. Leave the watch in bright light so it can charge.

How can I restore normal watch operation from the sleep state?

Place the watch in a location where it is exposed to light, or press any button. If your watch is equipped with an Auto Light feature , normal operation is restored by tilting the watch towards your face for reading.

What can I do to conserve battery power?

Use the light, alarm, and other power-hungry features, only when you really need them. If your watch has a Full Auto Light feature, turn the feature off when you do not need to illuminate the face of the watch.

What is the life of the solar cell and the rechargeable battery?

Normally, the solar cell and rechargeable battery should be able to last as long as the watch.
