What different radio-controlled watches are there?
Radio-controlled watches not only impress with their precision. The numerous functions, the use of high-quality materials and the charming design of the various types of radio-controlled watches are also impressive. In this section, we give you an overview of the different radio-controlled watches. Whether a sporty model with a digital display or a solar-powered watch with environmentally friendly long-term operation - you decide which type of watch suits you best.
A radio-controlled watch with digital display: sporty and precise
If you are looking for a radio-controlled wristwatch that goes well with sporty outfits, then you should take a closer look at the digital radio-controlled watches. Large displays and LED lighting on these wristwatches ensure that you can read the time and date clearly and quickly. And if you also want to wear your digital radio-controlled watch during sports, you should look out for models with resin wristbands. This material is flexible, shock-resistant and therefore particularly recommended for sporting activities. These radio-controlled wristwatches are also extremely light and comfortable to wear due to the low weight of the material.
Advantages:
- Precise to the second with radio-controlled digital display
- Water-resistant up to 20 bar, depending on model
- Robust materials, well suited to an active lifestyle
Analogue radio-controlled clocks: All-rounders with style
If you prefer to look for a wristwatch that is suitable for a casual business outfit, analogue radio-controlled watches deserve your special attention. A classic dial, simple design and high-quality materials such as stainless steel or titanium make these radio-controlled wristwatches the ideal accessory for anyone with style. And despite their traditional appearance, you don't have to compromise on technology: you don't have to worry about rate deviations with radio-controlled watches with an analogue display. The time is set and changed automatically, so there is no need to readjust the hands manually. Depending on the model, there are additional features such as an alarm function with several daily alarms, a timer or an automatic calendar. This makes your analogue radio-controlled watch a practical aid for business and leisure activities.
Advantages:
- Maximum precision thanks to automatic time setting
- Available in various modern and elegant designs as well as different colour variations
- Water-resistant up to 5 bar
Radio-controlled clocks with solar: reliable companions
Radio-controlled clocks promise precise timing. If you want to go one better in terms of reliability and convenience, then solar radio-controlled watches are particularly recommended. These watches hardly differ visually from other analogue watches. This is because the solar modules are inconspicuously embedded in the dial and are barely visible to the naked eye. In addition, the mini solar cells provide a permanent supply of energy through light. With a solar radio-controlled watch, you are not only stylishly on the move, but also have an environmentally friendly alternative on your wrist.
Advantages:
- Longer runtime thanks to solar-supported power supply
- No more battery changes necessary
- No manual adjustment for time changes
- Waterproof up to 5 bar

Radio-controlled watches: What are frequently asked questions?
Do you want to find out more about the accuracy or functionality of a radio-controlled watch? In this section, we answer some of the most frequently asked questions about radio-controlled clock technology.
How accurate is a radio-controlled watch?
Radio-controlled watches run in synchronisation with the radio signals of the most precise watches in the world - atomic clocks. These work with a rate accuracy that allows a maximum deviation of one second in a million years. When it comes to accurate timekeeping, a radio-controlled watch is by far the most reliable of all wristwatches.
How does a radio-controlled watch work?
The time signals of atomic clocks are transmitted worldwide by radio towers, so-called time signal transmitters. In Germany, radio-controlled watches from CASIO receive the pulses from the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt in Braunschweig and always adjust the time and date precisely to the signals transmitted every second.
Where can I find radio-controlled watch towers?
Worldwide, there are only six of the so-called time signal transmitters that broadcast radio time. There is one radio tower each in Germany, Great Britain, the USA and China. There are also two more radio towers in Japan. This means that Europe, Japan, the USA, Canada, China and large parts of Central and South America are supplied with radio-controlled time.
Incidentally, most CASIO radio-controlled watches are able to receive the time signals from the radio-controlled towers around the world. CASIO radio-controlled watches are therefore not only accurate to the second in Europe. So you can also rely on the convenience of radio-controlled precision when travelling internationally.
Tip: The number of time signals a CASIO radio-controlled watch can receive varies depending on the model. Before buying a watch, find out which radio signal receivers your favourite model contains. You will find this information directly under the technical details and specifications of your favourite item.
