Developed in a process of collaboration between human designers and AI technology, this shock-resistant watch from the MT-G line of the G-SHOCK brand makes the most of the properties of both metal and resin. Generative AI technology was used to conduct load simulations in order to design the unique frame, which was cut out from a base material consisting of laminated carbon and glass fiber sheets. The result — a beautifully layered pattern visible from the side and finely finished surfaces, including areas treated with Sallaz polishing — is an innovative design produced by human-AI collaboration, exuding refinement, depth and detail.

These shock-resistant watches represent a whole new approach to construction and design that boldly embodies the unwavering G-SHOCK commitment to toughness. An organic form with integrated bezel and band construction is paired with convex, protruding indexes featuring sharply defined edges for a toughness-oriented, oversized design with an overwhelming sense of presence. The new Casio magnetic holding structure incorporates a Shock Release Hand held by magnetic force that absorbs and dissipates impacts, allowing for larger hands and more flexibility in styling.

This specialized watch is designed for wear in saunas up to a maximum temperature of 100ºC (212ºF).* The watch features a built-in 12-minute timer to track time spent in the sauna and an analog dial design that allows the user to intuitively grasp the time. The heat- and moisture-resistant case is carefully constructed to minimize skin contact with the metal screw on the case back, and the unique coiled band evokes the wristbands on locker keys in Japan’s public baths — details that make it very easy to wear straight into the sauna.

* Wear on wrist for no more than 15 minutes when in sauna
