How many different devices can the printer be paired with?

The MEP-B10 supports pairing with up to eight smartphones. Performing a pairing operation with a smartphone while the printer already as eight pairings registered will cause the newest pairing information to be deleted to make room for the new information.

Connecting to a Smartphone.

Follow the steps below. * Features such as the display content differ depending on the OS version. Please select your device. iOS 1. Press "ON/Stand-by"key to turn the printer on. · The LED indicator on the printer turns on. 2. Tap "Settings">"Bluetooth". · Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone. 3. Tap "Settings">"LABEL DESIGN MAKER". · Activate Bluetooth on. 4. Tap (···) in the Settings tab. 5. Tap "Model". 6. Select “KL-BT1” and tap “Back”. 7. Tap “Print Settings”. 8. Tap the printer icon. 9. Tap the “KL-BT1_******” printer name to select this printer. · When this printer is selected, the LED indicator on the printer flashes several times. Android 1. Press "ON/Stand-by"key to turn the printer on. · The LED indicator on the printer turns on. 2. Swipe down from the top of the screen. Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone. 3. Swipe down from the top of the screen. Activate Location on your smartphone. 4. On your phone, open the "Settings" app. 5. Tap "Apps & notifications">"APP info">"LABEL DESIGN MAKER">"Permissions">"Location". 6. Tap [All the time (Location only)] or [Only while using the app]. · To use BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) with Android 6.0 or later, access to location information must be both enabled and permitted. 7. Tap (···) in the Settings tab. 8. Tap "Model". 9. Select “KL-BT1” and tap “Back”. 10. Tap “Print Settings”. 11. Tap the printer icon. 12. Tap the “KL-BT1_******” printer name to select this printer. · When this printer is selected, the LED indicator on the printer flashes several times.

What smartphone models are supported?

A smartphone running Android™ 2.3.3 or higher, with Bluetooth® 2.1 +EDR or higher; Profile: SPP; Screen size: 800×480 (WVGA) or greater. Note, however, that operation is not guaranteed on a smartphone whose operating system has been updated.

Why did I lose the pairing between the printer and my smartphone?

Re-pairing is necessary in the cases described below. ・ After a paired phone is unpaired automatically by pairing of more than eight phones. ・ After performing pairing information initialization operation on the MEP-B10 printer. ・ After deleting paring information on the smartphone. ・ If you keep getting connection errors.* * With some smartphones, Bluetooth® communication may become unstable or even be lost if the phone battery goes low. You should be able to use Bluetooth® communication normally after charging the smartphone. * Do not execute a print operation while printing or data communication is in progress.

What is the communication range?

Approximately 10 meters. Note, however, that radio wave conditions and other factors can affect the communication range.

How do I connect to a smartphone? (If opening the app for the first time)-iOS

1. Press power to turn on the printer. - The LED indicator on the printer turns on. 2. Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone. 3. Launch LABEL DESIGN MAKER on the smartphone. - Bluetooth permission is requested in iOS 13 and later. Tap [OK]. - If you are launching the app for the first time, the “End User Software License Agreement” appears. 4. Read the End User Software License Agreement carefully and then tap “Agree”. - The printer model selection screen appears. 5. Select “KL-BT1” and tap “Finish”. - “First, connect to the label printer.” appears. 6. Tap “Connect now”. - “Found printers.” appears, along with the “KL-BT1_******” printer name. - If “Printer not found.” appears, tap the “Retry” button and search for the printer again. 7. Tap the “KL-BT1_******” printer name to select this printer. - When this printer is selected, the LED indicator on the printer flashes several times. - When the connection is completed, the “Print Settings” screen reappears showing the connected printer.

Do I need to pair the printer with another device each time I print?

Once you pair with a device, you normally do not need to perform the pairing again with the same device. If you experience problems establishing a Bluetooth® connection with a paired smartphone, you will need to perform it with the printer again. After charging the smartphone, re-enable Bluetooth® communication. * If, after re-enabling Bluetooth® communication you still cannot connect, delete the pairing information from your phone and perform pairing again.

How do I connect to a smartphone?（Launching the App Subsequently）-iOS

1. Press power to turn on the printer. - The LED indicator on the printer turns on. 2. Tap [Settings] on your smartphone and enable Bluetooth. 3. Bluetooth permission is requested in iOS 13 and later. Tap [OK]. - Tap [Settings] > [List of apps] > [LABEL DESIGN MAKER] on your smartphone. - Set "Bluetooth" to ON. (Not required if Bluetooth is already enabled.) 4. Launch LABEL DESIGN MAKER on the smartphone. - The home screen appears. 5. Tap (・••) in the Settings tab. - The “Settings” screen appears. 6. Tap “Model”. - The printer model selection screen appears. 7. Select “KL-BT1” and tap “Back”. - If you are asked to allow the use of Bluetooth, tap “OK” to allow it. 8. Tap “Print Settings”. - The “Print Settings” screen appears. 9. Tap the printer icon. - “Found printers.” appears, along with the “KL-BT1_******” printer name. - If “Printer not found.” appears, tap the “Retry” button and search for the printer again. 10. What is pairing?

Bluetooth® requires two devices to be registered, or "paired", with each other in order to communicate. Once two devices are paired, the will not need to be paired again.

When should I edit device names?

When you are paired with more than one MEP-B10 printer, you can use this setting to assign them easy-to-remember device names.

What is the communication range?

Why do I have to enable location information?(Android)

To use BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) with Android 6.0 or later, access to location information must be both enabled and permitted. Because this app uses BLE to locate the printer, the location information function and access privileges should be enabled.

Is Bluetooth pairing required?

Bluetooth pairing is not required. Pairing is a connection method that only works with dedicated apps, so it is normal for the KP-BT1 not to appear in the Bluetooth device connection screen on a smartphone.
