LABEL DESIGN MAKER for Windows

The "Printers not found" error message is displayed.

[Noise or some other problem may have caused wireless LAN communication to time out.] Use the printer's power key to turn power off and then back on again. How do I select or directly input the access point in the Client Mode?

(1) Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable. (2) On the menu bar, click "Settings" and then select "Wireless LAN settings". (3) Select the printer you want to connect. (4) Click "Select connect device", select the access point or click "Enter the network name (SSID) manually". (5) Configure the settings of each item. Printer name : 1 to 31 characters, single-byte characters only. Channel : 1 to 13（Initial value 11） SSID : Shows the wireless LAN connection device. 1 to 32 single-byte ASCII characters. Space is not allowed as the first character. Encryption method : none,WPA/WPA2 Passphrase : 8 to 63 single-bye ASCII characters (6) Click "Next" to exit settings. (7) When a connection is established, the printer’s wireless LAN lamp lights green.

LABEL DESIGN MAKER does not open when I double-click a saved file.

To start up LABEL DESIGN MAKER, select "Create a label from a saved label".

The "Check the network connection." error message is displayed.

Following an update, one or more of the following problems occur: abnormal display, LABEL DESIGN MAKER does not start up, I am unable to uninstall LABEL DESIGN MAKER, etc.

Can characters be resized to dimensions such as 5X height, 1X width.

Text size cannot be changed by altering the character aspect ratio.

How do I reuse data to create "Merge" data?

(1) Click "Merge"."Edit Merge Data" is displayed. (2) Clicking the "Import" button on the right side of the window opens the file selection window.Specify the Excel or CSV file you want to use and load the data. (3) The data is imported into the "Edit Merge Data" window, where it can be edited as needed. Avoid duplication when changing the item name. If imported data has no title row, click the "▼" button at the top left after importing the data. (4) Click the "End Editing" button on the right side of the window to exit merge data editing.

The "Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this program" is displayed.

A security alert screen will appear when you print over a wireless LAN for the first time. Select the "Private networks" check box and then click the "Allow access" button.

The "The print process is not responding.Restart the application." is displayed.

Select the "Use a proxy server for your LAN." check box and the "Bypass proxy server for local addresses" check box. (1) Click "Control Panel". (2) Click "Network and Internet". How do I connect using WPS in the Client Mode?

[Connect using the WPS button of the wireless LAN router/access point.] (1) On the printer, hold down the Wireless LAN key for at least three seconds. This puts the printer into simple connection standby, which is indicated by the wireless LAN lamp flashing green, in two quick flash bursts. (2) Within about the next two minutes, press the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button of the wireless LAN router/access point you are using. Wireless LAN will turn off if connection cannot be established within two minutes. (3) When a connection is established, the printer’s wireless LAN lamp lights green. [Connect using a PIN code.] (1) Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable. (2) On the menu bar, click "Settings" and then select "Wireless LAN settings". (3) Select the printer you want to connect. (4) Select the wireless LAN router/access point connection method. Click "Connect by WPS button". (5) Click "WPS PIN code here". (6) Open the settings window for the wireless LAN router/access point and enter and set the PIN code below. (7) Within about the next two minutes, press the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button of the wireless LAN router/access point you are using. Wireless LAN will turn off if connection cannot be established within two minutes. (8) When a connection is established, the printer’s wireless LAN lamp lights green.

Printed text seems to be blurry.

Selecting "Error Diffusion" for the monochrome conversion method can cause printed text to be blurry. For text, illustrations, and other simple printing, select "Simple binary". "Error Diffusion" is recommended when printing a label that has a photograph or other color image inserted. (1) Click the"Print/Print preview" button to display the Print Preview dialog box. (2) Click the "Properties" in the lower right corner to display the Print Settings dialog box. (3) Click the "Monochrome" tab and then select "Simple binary." (4) Click "OK".

I can't print over Wi-Fi.

Change the "Set Network Location" setting to "Home network" (for Windows 7) or "Private network" (Windows 8.1, 10). Windows 10 Specify "Private network" for the network location setting. (1) On the Start menu, click "Settings". (2) Click "Network & Internet". (3) Select the currently connected network. (4) Click "Private". Windows 8.1 Specify "Private network" for the network location setting. (1) Bring up the Charms bar and then click "Settings". (2) Click "Change PC settings". (3) Click "Network". How can I change the wireless LAN settings?(Access Point Mode)

What are supported image file formats?

The types of images below can be inserted into a label layout. BMP、JPG、JPEG、GIF、PNG、SVG ・ Inserted color images are printed in shadings of black and white.

I am having problems with Timestamp operations.

When using a time stamp with the "Date and time of printing" setting turned on, do not insert a time stamp directly into a table cell. If you want to use a time stamp in a table, create the time stamp outside of the table, re-size the time stamp text and configure other settings as required, and then move the time stamp so it is on top of an empty table cell. • Click "Timestamp".

How do I change the text size?

Use select "Prioritize text size" for "Text box settings". You can specify the text size in the range of 3 points to 600 points.

I can't change table settings.

Selecting a table cell that has a time stamp directly inserted in it will display time stamp settings in the Work Window. You will not be able to change table settings. If you think you will need to adjust table settings, do so before inserting a time stamp.

How do I uninstall LABEL DESIGN MAKER?

Windows 10／Windows 8.1 (1) Click "Control Panel". (2) If you are using category view, click "Uninstall a program". If you are using the large icons or small icons view, click "Programs". (3) Select "LABEL DESIGN MAKER" and then click "Uninstall". (4) Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to install LABEL DESIGN MAKER. Windows 7 (1) Perform the following operation: Start Menu → All Programs → CASIO → LABEL DESIGN MAKER → Uninstall LABEL DESIGN MAKER. (2) On the confirmation dialog box that appears, click "OK". (3) On the confirmation dialog box that appears asking if you want to complete the operation, click "OK".

I am having problems with re-positioning or re-sizing print elements.

On "Workspace settings", selecting the "Show grid" and "Snap to Grid" options will display gridlines and cause elements to snap to the grid when they are inserted into the label or repositioned. With this configuration, you may experience problems re-positioning or re-sizing elements if the "Spacing" value is too large.As a general rule, use of a "Spacing" value of 10 mm or less is recommended. • On the menu bar, click "Settings" and then select "Workspace settings".

How do I connect with the Access Point Mode?

(1) On the printer, press Wireless LAN key to turn on wireless LAN. This causes the wireless LAN lamp to flash green. How do I find out the printer's MAC address?

(1) On the menu bar, click [Settings] and then select [Wireless LAN settings]. (2) Select the printer you want to connect. (3) Click " Access point connect."

Sometimes when I select a label element, it unexpectedly moves out of position.

[When "Free" is selected for the "Workspace settings" "Positioning" setting] When there is another element near the element you are selecting, re-positioning the selected element will cause a dotted orange line to appear along the edge of the nearby element to make it easier to align with it. At this time, the element you are moving will snap to the edge alignment of the nearby element. If there are multiple adjacent elements within the workspace, elements may move unexpectedly.Use "Align" and "Justify" as required to align elements. [When "Snap to Grid" is selected for the "Workspace Settings" "Positioning" setting] Elements snap to the grid when they are inserted into the label or repositioned.Selecting an element that is currently not positioned on a gridline will causes that element to snap to the grid. Even though I printed with "Automatic label length" turned on with "Tape settings",some text is cut off when I perform merge printing.

When printing merge data that consists of long text strings, the text may not fit on the label and will run off the edge.With merge printing, all printed labels are the same length, text boxes and the label length should be sized to so they are large enough for the longest text string in the merge data. Also, selecting "Prioritize box size" for "Text box settings" will cause the printer to automatically reduces the size of text in the case of a long text string so it can fit.

What are the four types of operations that can be selected with "Text box settings"?

[Fixed box height] The text size is determined by the text box height. The text box length changes automatically according to the amount of text entered. [Prioritize text size] Priority is given to the specified text size. The text box size changes automatically according to the amount of text entered and the number of lines. [Prioritize box size] Priority is given to the specified text box size. The text size changes automatically so that it will fit in the box without using line breaks. [Prioritize box size (wrap text)] Priority is given to the specified text box size. The text size changes automatically so that it will fit in the box using line breaks.

When converting a color image to monochrome, can dithering and gamma be adjusted?

I am having problems with numbering operations.

When configuring text box settings, to not specify different text settings (font, text size, text attributes) for text boxes. Make sure that the same text settings are used for all the text in a text box. Also, do not use a newline operation part way through the text in a text box. If you want to change text settings or change lines, split the text between two text boxes, and align the text boxes accordingly.

When printing an image, some areas that should be dark are white.

I selected "Fixed box height" for "Text box settings", but the setting changes to "Prioritize text size" when I add text to the label.

When the "Automatic label length" label setting is turned off, the "Tape settings" becomes "Prioritize text size". Turning on the "Automatic label length" label setting causes "Text box settings" to become "Fixed box height", and text to be inserted at the beginning of the text box and matched to the print area height.

How do I create new "Merge" data?

(1) Click "Merge"."Edit Merge Data" is displayed. (2) The number of columns becomes the number of items that can be changed. Use the "Insert Column" or "Delete Column" button on the right side of the window to set the required number of items. (3) The row content is used as the text or data inserted into each label. What are the supported image file formats?

Are there restrictions on the smart device's screen resolution?

When I add a frame to a label, it overlaps with the text.

A frame cannot be moved, so you will need to adjust the position of the text and other elements so they do not overlap with the frame. Or, when using a frame, turn off "Automatic label length" and adjust the label length manually.

I want to open multiple layout files for editing.

LABEL DESIGN MAKER does not support opening multiple files at the same time. If you want to open another file, first save the currently open file (if necessary) and then close it.

Can a print files created using previous print software?

LABEL DESIGN MAKER does not support files stored with FA-3000 or BA-300.

Automatic label length is turned on under "Tape settings", but the end of the label is cut off.

A "Text effects:Italic" setting can cause text at the end of a label to extend outside of a layout. If this happens, turn off "Automatic label length" and adjust the label length manually.

The "Access Denied (authentication_failed)" error message is displayed.

An Internet environment is required to use LABEL DESIGN MAKER. If your Internet environment uses a proxy server that requires a user name and password for verification, you will need to pre-configure verification settings. (1) Click "Create a new label". (2) On the menu bar, click "Settings" and then select "Authentication settings". (3) After inputting the verification user name and password, click the [OK] button. (4) Restart LABEL DESIGN MAKER.

I set "bold", but the characters do not become thick.

The bold style cannot be applied to some fonts. If you want to use bold, try selecting a different font.

Auto update is not being performed.

Windows 8.1/10 Auto update will not be performed if you select "No" for the "Device Installation Settings." (1) On the Start menu, right-click, to open the menu. Next, click "Control Panel ". (2) On the Control Panel dialog box that appears, click "System and Security ". • If the view is something other than Category, click "System" Go to step (4). (3) On the System Settings that appear, click "System ". (4) On the left, click "Advanced system settings ". (5) On the System Properties dialog box that appears, select the "Hardware" tab. (6) Click "Device Installation Settings ". (7) On the Device Installation Settings dialog box that appears, select "Always install the best driver software from Windows Update ".
