Measurement accuracy

Why do heart rate measurements seem to be incorrect?

The conditions below can make accurate heart rate measurements impossible. ・Exercising in a cold environment and other conditions that reduce blood flow to the arm ・Arm tattoos ・Sunscreen, lotion, insect repellent, or other agents applied to the skin http://pjoisac-supporttest-ww.casio.jp/en/support/information.php?cid=009&pid=925

Distance is not measured correctly.

If you maintain the smartphone with the location information and the correction function of the paired smartphone turned (Smartphone GPS correction) ON (can be set in the app) and use the running function, using the location information of the smartphone, the distance measurement sensor built into the watch will be automatically corrected to enable highly accurate distance measurement. NOTE: Depending on the smartphone used and the usage environment, location information may not be very accurate.

Please tell me how to perform automatic distance correction.

If you keep the smartphone with the location information and the correction function of the paired smartphone turned (Smartphone GPS correction) ON (can be set in the app) in an environment where you can accurately obtain the location information, auto-correction is completed by running for about two minutes in the watch’s RUN measurement setting. NOTE: This may take two minutes or longer depending on run pace and the environment.??

How accurate are the accelerometer's distance measurements?

Prior to GPS correction, step length is calculated based on height, so the error will increase depending on how you run. After GPS correction, accuracy will be close to that of GPS measurements. However, this is if you run in the same manner as when corrections are made.?

How accurate are heart rate measurements?

With heart rate measurements, the estimated heart rate is displayed based on the pulse measured by the sensor built into the back of this unit (back cover). The heart rate data displayed by this unit is for reference only, and its accuracy is not guaranteed.

Why is the blood oxygen level displayed by the watch different from that shown by a medical device?

1.The way to tighten the band when measuring your blood oxygen level is different from that for general wear. Re-tighten the band as instructed in the User's Guide. 2.The watch's blood oxygen level measurement function is not a medical device. It is intended for general reference only.

Why isn't distance measured correctly?

When using the running function with a phone while the paired phone's location information and correction function (phone GPS correction) is enabled by the application, the watch's distance measurement sensor is automatically corrected using the phone's location information, which provides highly accurate distance measurement.* Certain phone types and usage environments may result in low-accuracy location information.

Why are displayed altitude values not accurate?

The watch's altimeter detects atmospheric pressure changes and converts its readings to altitude values. If you need greater accuracy, periodically correct the altitude readings produced by the watch.

Why are displayed temperature values not accurate?

Temperature readings taken while the watch is on your wrist are higher than actual air temperature. Remove the watch from your wrist to take air temperature readings.

Why is the displayed ACTIVE TIME less than the GYM WORKOUT time?

Since ACTIVE TIME is detected in accordance with your arm movement, the measured time may be less when you do lower body-driven exercises in which your arms do not move much.

Why is the blood oxygen level displayed by the watch different from that shown by a medical device?

The way to tighten the band when measuring your blood oxygen level is different from that for general wear. Re-tighten the band as instructed in the User's Guide.

Why does the GPS track of OPEN WATER SWIMMING differ from the location where I swam?

The OPEN WATER SWIMMING track is intended to approximate the location where you swam. The watch cannot receive GPS signals while it is submerged, so it only acquires location signals while it is above the water's surface. This results in large variations in positional accuracy.

Why is the bearing indication wrong?

When using the bearing value, correct the reading as explained in the User's Guide.

Why is the blood oxygen level displayed by the watch different from that shown by a medical device?

The watch's blood oxygen level measurement function is not a medical device. It is intended for general reference only.

Why are the steps displayed fewer than I take on a treadmill?

All of your steps may not be counted if you run on a treadmill with your hand on the sidebar, which results in a lower number of steps displayed.

Why is distance accuracy poor?

The accuracy of measurements for activities that use GPS depends on the GPS positioning status.? (Activities that use GPS) 　RUNNING 　BIKING 　OPEN WATER SWIMMING 　TRAIL RUNNING 　WALKING Try using HIGH RATE for the GPS measurement interval setting.

Why does the map track keep going off the road?

Try using HIGH RATE for the GPS measurement interval setting.

Why do GPS readings take so long to complete?

Take GPS readings in a suitable location. See the GPS precautions here for more information.? A GPS reading operation initially takes time to find GPS satellites. The watch is able to produce readings more quickly once positioning is complete.

Why is GPS accuracy poor?

GPS accuracy depends on your surroundings.? Try using HIGH RATE for the GPS measurement interval setting.
