The MTG-B4000D features an updated Dual Core Guard structure with a frame design integrating carbon fiber and stainless steel, which was developed with the aid of artificial intelligence trained with big data on impact resistance. A seamless collaboration between AI capabilities and human developers, this timepiece creatively integrates materials, structure, and design into an organic whole of functional beauty. Base designs created by human designers were analyzed and simulated by AI and then further refined by the human hand to render a unique form that organically synthesizes functionality and beauty. The intricate, dimensional form of the frame is cut out from a base material of laminated carbon and glass fiber sheets, creating a beautifully layered pattern. The stainless-steel components of the bezel, featuring a dual-layer design of inner and outer bezels, are polished with separate hairline and mirror finishes for a sophisticated textural look. The band also features a layered composite construction that integrates stainless steel and carbon fiber-reinforced resin. Combining the ruggedness of metal and lightness of resin, the band has a solid, substantial feel, while ensuring a comfortable fit. The watch employs the Triple G Resist structure to withstand shock, centrifugal force, and vibration. The case is also protected by the dimensional form of the case back, which is created using metal injection molding (MIM), a method of processing metal in which fine metal powder is injected into molds. The structure and exterior design were developed collaboratively by human designers and AI, creating a bold new frame that integrates different materials. Paired with the Dual Core Guard structure, this innovation further elevates the MT-G toughness and cutting-edge design.
This novel approach integrates band connection parts directly into the frame, effectively reducing shock transmission to the case using a hybrid carbon and stainless-steel structure. To further enhance impact resistance, the screwless design securely attaches the stainless-steel lug components to the carbon frame, ensuring exceptional durability and resilience.
AI-assisted development process
AI was used to analyze and simulate base designs created by human designers. Drawing on the extensive data on shock-resistant structures in the G-SHOCK world, optimized 3D prototypes were generated to meet specified structural strength and material property requirements. These prototypes were further refined via repeated manual adjustments, achieving unique forms that seamlessly combine functionality and beauty.

The frame is cut out from a base material consisting of laminated carbon and glass fiber sheets to create its innovative dimensional form. The beautiful layered patterns created by the cut across the different materials feature prominently when the watch is viewed from the side. A molded combination of carbon fiber and resin is employed for the top surface, revealing a distinctive fibrous pattern that gives a vivid sense of the materials’ toughness.
In addition, the frame is configured to interlock with the bezel, side buttons, and case back, creating a beautiful exterior that highlights the combination of carbon fiber, resin, and stainless-steel materials.

Layered-composite band: Creating a new form of structural beauty
Newly developed for the MT-G line, the layered-composite band is constructed with stainless-steel and carbon fiber-reinforced resin components. The surfaces of the raised center links are accentuated with separately applied finishes. Together with the powerful side view set off by the distinctive carbon pattern, they create a seamless, integrated form extending from the frame and lugs to the band. This creates unique MT-G styling that captures all the beauty of the contrasting materials combined, throughout the entire watch design. The characteristic hardness of the metal creates a look of tough solidity. At the same time, materials with low thermal conductivity are employed for the underside of the band which comes in contact with the skin, ensuring comfortable wearability for everyday use.

Meticulous finishes for a look of solidity and radiance
Multiple unique finishes are applied to individual parts to set off the texture of the stainless steel most impressively. In particular, separate hairline and mirror finishes are applied to the bezel, case, and band — components with sharp-edged surface structures. This accentuates the structural beauty created by their complex forms, as well as the gleam of the metal. The watch exterior exudes a powerful and beautiful sense of presence viewed from any angle. Also, Sallaz polishing is employed for certain sections of the mirror finishes to create beautiful, exceptionally smooth surfaces free of distortion.
Metal injection molding (MIM), a method of metal processing in which fine metal powder is injected into molds, is used to create the intricate dimensional case back. Laser processing is used to create a delicately textured matte finish, resembling the texture of Asian pear skin, on recessed portions to offset the TRIPLE G RESIST logo.

The design incorporating three-dimensional arrangements of components, including a slanted dial ring set off with large, boldly raised indexes, gives the dial an impressive sense of depth. Phosphorescent finish and metallic vapor deposition are applied to the sharp, multifaceted forms of the indexes. Achieved with the fine processing technologies of Yamagata Casio, the intricate forms of the components accent the watch with sophisticated textural appeal down to the finest details.

The updated MT-G Dual Core Guard structure protects the carbon fiber-reinforced resin inner case with metal components, delivering high strength and weight reduction at the same time.
