Casio Will Showcase Its Portfolio of Digital Keyboards and Pianos Including Privia Pro, CELVIANO, and MZ series

LOS ANGELES, CA, April 28, 2016 - Casio America, Inc., a leading electronic musical instrument provider, is proud to announce that it will be a sponsor of the 11th annual ASCAP ‘I Create Music’ EXPO, the premier national conference for songwriters, producers and music business leaders. Casio’s wide variety of electronic musical instruments, including key models from its Compact Digital Piano line, CELVIANO GRAND HYBRID, and the MZ series, will be on display from April 28-30, 2016, at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.

As part of the sponsorship, Casio will support the ‘She Rocks Showcase,’ an event hosted by The Women’s International Music Network (WIMN) where Divinity Roxx, singer, songwriter and musical director, is set to headline. In addition, event attendees (ASCAP members) will receive a 20 percent off coupon for select Casio products valid at Sam Ash Music Stores nationwide.

“Casio has provided electronic musical instruments that help foster music-making and professional performances for more than 30 years," said Stephen Schmidt, Vice President of Casio’s electronic musical instrument Division. “We are excited to be a part of the ASCAP EXPO and look forward to demonstrating our latest digital keyboards and pianos which offer all the tools and benefits musicians of all levels need to express their musical creativity."

The following Casio electronic musical instruments will be on display during the ASCAP EXPO for attendees to play:

COMPOSER’S COMPANION: The CGP-700 compact digital piano, features Casio’s latest technological achievement, the Color Touch InterfaceTM, a premium icon-based 5.3" touchscreen. This bright, clear and easy-to-use interface enables musicians to choose tones, select rhythms, and combine sounds in splits or layers. It also features Casio’s world-class Tri-Sensor 88-note scaled hammer action keyboard with simulated ebony and ivory textured keys. This compact digital piano boasts a unique six-speaker sound system with 40 watts of total amplification; four speakers located in the top of the CGP-700 provide a rich stereo experience, and two additional speakers are located in the stand. For on-stage performances, the CGP-700 can be removed from the stand, becoming a lightweight (26lbs) and versatile stage piano.

A SONGWRITER’S DREAM: Casio’s MZ-X500 Music Arranger keyboard comes with all the power and features needed by songwriters and performing musicians. An inspiring set of over 1,000 instrument tones, hundreds of rhythms and a 17-track song sequencer allow songwriters to compose with ease. 16 backlit, touch-sensitive pads allow users to trigger musical phrases, chord progressions and audio samples while the keyboard is free to play other instrument tones. To capture that moment of inspiration, the MZ-X500 provides USB audio recording, which can even record vocals and other instruments utilizing the mic and line inputs. The MZ-X500 has built-in speakers driven by dual 20-watt amplifiers that deliver a big, powerful sound wherever your music might take you.

CLASSICS WITH A TWIST: The CELVIANO Grand Hybrid GP-500 piano combines the advantages of both a digital and acoustic piano, while delivering the performance of a grand piano in tone, keyboard quality and playing comfort. Designed with a black polished finish, the GP-500 boasts Casio’s AiR Grand Sound Source and Natural Grand Hammer Action keyboard, which was developed in collaboration with piano maker C. Bechstein. The exclusive six-speaker amplification system, reproduces the three-dimensional sound filed generated by an acoustic grand. What makes it so unique is the revolutionary new Natural Grand Hammer Action keyboard; it’s made with full-length wooden concert grand piano keys using the same materials and processes as the C. Bechstein concert grands. It also offers USB Audio Recording, a Hall Simulator, and 3 world-class piano tones including the “Berlin Grand" tone which was jointly developed with C. Bechstein.
