Drawing from the ancient art of Japanese katana forging, the MRG-B2000JS radiates the majestic power and refined beauty of the Juryoku-Maru sword. This timepiece captures the essence of Japanese sword-making and aesthetics, combining artisanal mastery with cutting-edge technology. The bezel, crafted from recrystallized hybrid titanium, reflects the sword’s distinctive temper pattern, while the band, featuring aogai blue shell lacquer, mimics the texture of the traditional sword. The MR-G line is a testament to this seamless blend of tradition and modernity, embodied in every intricate detail of this exclusive limited-edition watch. Every element of this timepiece carries the spirit of masterful craftsmanship, celebrating the MR-G commitment to preserving traditional Japanese artistry. Kamiyama Teruhira, a remarkably talented young swordsmith, stands at the forefront of modern Japanese sword-making. His dedication to the strength and beauty of the katana parallels Casio’s vision for G-SHOCK. This shared pursuit led to Kamiyama being commissioned to craft the iconic Juryoku-Maru: San sword for G-SHOCK. The bezel design is directly inspired by Kamiyama’s temper pattern, recreated with layers of pure and Ti64 titanium subjected to extreme heat and pressure. Once polished and recrystallized, the bezel takes on a distinctive pattern of interwoven titanium. The case is also recrystallized to highlight the large crystals in the sword’s temper pattern. Kamiyama has personally hand-engraved the character “燦” (San) on each watch, ensuring that every piece is uniquely its own. Casio’s proprietary structural colour technique (patent pending) enhances the vibrant, shifting colours of the timepiece depending on the viewing angle. Ultra-precise micro processing creates delicate structures on the metal surface, while the specially chosen DAT55G*2 alloy, three times harder than pure titanium, protects against scratches. A diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating adds even more durability. The dial’s base features the traditional hishimaki-gara diamond pattern from the Juryoku-Maru: San hilt, while a fan-like decorative design frames the perimeter. Sword-like curvature inspires the indexes, encapsulating the katana world and traditional Japanese elegance in the watch’s refined textures and intricate details. Skilled artisans apply Sallaz polishing and advanced hardening processes to ensure a flawless finish and durability. With additional features like solar-powered timekeeping, bluetooth®, magnetic resistant, power save, auto hand correction, radio-controlled Muli band 6 accuracy and super illuminator. The watch also includes highly durable materials like sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, providing both precision and resilience.
