Loren Gold

Loren Gold is a keyboardist, vocalist, and songwriter from Palo Alto, California. Since 2012, he’s toured with The Who as their keyboardist and backing vocalist, after first performing with Roger Daltrey’s solo band in 2009. Over the years, Loren has shared the stage with a diverse range of artists, including Chicago, Kenny Loggins, and Don Felder.

Off the road, he’s served as Musical Director for pop artists such as Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Hilary Duff, and American Idol winner Taylor Hicks. As a songwriter, Loren has collaborated with legendary composer Paul Williams, as well as rising talents like Tate McRae.

When he’s not touring or in the studio, Loren enjoys passing on his knowledge through teaching. He’s the author of two instructional books with Alfred Music, and his original compositions have been featured on HBO, Showtime, and FOX.

As a busier-than-most player, Loren relies on the Privia PX-S3100 as his portable piano while on the road, backstage, in hotel rooms, or anywhere else he needs 88 weighted keys on the go.

“I’ve been a Casio fan for years, and this Privia is my go-to warm-up, cool-down, and practice keyboard on the road. I always use it to rehearse and work out new parts with the bands. I’m really impressed with how great it sounds and feels, especially considering how portable it is. I’d say ‘it’s not going anywhere’, but it goes everywhere I do. It’s definitely a keeper.”
