The GA-V01 brings together organic exterior form and sharp-edged components, combining these with a large, full-screen LCD, the Shock Release Hand and other innovative ideas reflecting the G-SHOCK identity of toughness. The center case protecting the module is covered by an exterior that employs an integrated bezel and band construction, with large dimensional indexes that overlap the glass to also function as shock-absorbent bumpers. This uniquely powerful design delivers a whole new look, while maintaining the characteristic G-SHOCK shock-resistance you love. To achieve this, we developed a magnetic holding structure that attaches the delicate watch hands to the shaft using magnetic force rather than a fixed connection. This Shock Release Hand (minute hand)* absorbs and dissipates impacts effectively. The structure also makes it possible to create larger hands and offers more flexibility in styling. The layered construction of the analog-digital combination face incorporates a full-screen LCD and metallic dial featuring openwork to create decorative see-through sections. Specially designed unconventional hour and minute hands in the center and an indicator hand within the LCD add the finishing touches to this strikingly original design.
