PX-S1100CB
Introducing two new limited‑edition colors-Calm Blue and Mellow Beige-for the Privia PX‑S1100. The PX-S1100 is well known for its slim profile, authentic keyboard touch and rich expression. Based on the concept of “CALM & MELLOW” (moments of tranquility and ease), these special new color variations make it even easier to incorporate the piano as part of a routine that soothes the mind.

Layered notes at my own pace, guiding my heart into a centered flow.
Offers high‑quality sound and touch, all in the world’s most compact body.*

The keyboard mechanism, speakers and other components have been miniaturized as far as possible while still delivering the highest performance. Crucial to the keyboard's small size is Casio's proprietary high-density technology, featuring a space-saving internal structure with the circuit board mounted vertically. These innovations and others have made possible the world's slimmest* digital piano in terms of depth – allowing for extremely flexible placement.

The following is from our interview with pianist Hayato Sumino (Cateen):
“While the Privia PX‑S1100 delivers beautiful tone, its natural touch really stands out. When you play you can express everything from delicate pianissimo to powerful fortissimo—and truly feel the joy of producing a great sound, much like playing a grand piano.”
Hayato Sumino began his professional music career by winning the Grand Prix at the PTNA Piano Competition in 2018. He garnered international attention in 2021 as a semi-finalist at the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, where his unique and characterful performances captured the audience’s hearts.
Sumino has performed with leading orchestras worldwide, including the Hamburg Symphony, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Marin Alsop. His performances have captivated audiences across North America, Europe, and Asia, both online and in numerous live events.
In 2024, Sumino embarked on an extensive tour across Japan, performing 24 sold-out recitals. He is scheduled to make debuts at prestigious music festivals such as the Rheingau Musik Festival in Germany, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival in Switzerland, and the Ravinia Festival in the United States, where he will also perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
The 2024/2025 season sees Sumino collaborating with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra for an 11-concert tour in Japan, conducted by Marin Alsop. He is set to debut at Europe’s renowned concert halls, including the Berlin Philharmonie and Munich Prinzregententheater. Additionally, he will perform Olivier Messiaen’s “Turangalîla-Symphonie” with the New Japan Philharmonic, led by Joe Hisaishi.
Sony Classical recently announced an exclusive recording contract with Sumino, adding him to their roster of internationally celebrated pianists. His debut album, scheduled for release in Autumn 2024, will feature a diverse selection of works by composers such as Bach, Fauré, Purcell, Sakamoto, and Sumino himself.
Sumino holds a Master of Engineering degree from The University of Tokyo Graduate School of Information Science and Technology. He was honored with The University of Tokyo President’s Award in 2020 for his exceptional achievements in both music and academics. He has been recognized on the Forbes Japan 30 Under 30 list, became a Steinway Artist in 2021, and serves as an ambassador for CASIO electronic musical instruments.
An active online presence, Sumino shares his original compositions and arrangements on his YouTube channel “Cateen,” which boasts over 1.3 million subscribers and 170 million views. His unique style blends classical technique with an arranger’s ear and improvisational skills, bringing a fresh and innovative approach to piano music.

SOUND & PLAYABILITY
Privia faithfully delivers the sound and playability of a grand piano. Experience the expressive touch, from the low notes all the way through to the high, and lose yourself in your playing.

Sound Source
- Multi-Dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source produces a wide range of exceptionally detailed and playable tones, including grand piano tones that include the rich resonances of the acoustic instrument.
- The piano tone subtly changes over time and with every nuance of the player’s style, from the softest of touches to powerful, spirited playing.
- The overtones generated by the piano strings for each of the 88 keys—and the resulting complex body resonances—are faithfully produced to create a beautifully rich and vivid piano tone.
Sound System
- Built-in speaker system delivers well-balanced sound with depth and weight in the low end and a sparkling high end with a vivid sense of presence.
- Strengthened speaker diaphragm creates shimmering the high frequencies, while the reinforced internal structure keeps the low frequencies tight yet powerful.
- The Hall Simulator/Reverb function recreates the acoustic properties of concert halls and other performance spaces producing a realistic sense of presence. Create your own space with your preferred acoustic settings.
Tones

Keyboard
- Features the “Smart Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard” that combines a mechanical hammer action with digital control that delivers nuanced touch and expressive performance across dynamic ranges and registers.
- The white keys feature an ivory‑style textured finish, whereas the black keys have an ebony‑style texture that creates a premium feel that’s comfortable even during extended periods of play.
- The tone isn't affected just by how you press the keys; how quickly you release them also influences the nuance of both damping and resonance.
- 88-Key Digital Scaling technology means that volume is individually controlled for each key in response to how hard it is played, with the touch weight varying along the length of the keyboard, like a grand piano.
- The hammer response adjusts the timing of the production of sound according to both register and playing style, which provides the sensation of playing a grand piano.
- The key‑off response allows for fine control of either legato or staccato touch articulation, so you can tailor how notes connect or detach for precise expression.
Pedals
- Essential for piano performance, the supplied SP-3 damper pedal can be connected to the PEDAL UNIT jack. For greater expressive control, the SP-34 three-pedal unit (sold separately) with a continuously variable damper pedal, can be connected.
EXPERIENCE
Expand your musical experience. The Privia offers possibilities beyond just playing the piano to let you enjoy music to the fullest.

- Digital effects, including Sound Modes, Chorus, Brilliance and other DSP effects, add depth and space to sounds.
