The History of Casio Calculators

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. was founded by the four Kashio brothers (Tadao, Toshio, Kazuo, and Yukio) in 1957. That same year, led by eldest brother Toshio, the company developed the "14-A", the world’s first fully electric compact calculator — operating solely on electric circuits rather than gears or motors.

The brothers combined their respective strengths to grow the company while living by their ideals of "creativity and contribution." Starting in 1965, 2025 marks the 60th anniversary of the "001," the world’s first electronic desktop calculator with memory functions. Let’s retrace this long and remarkable history:
