What is "Recovery"?

What is “Recovery”?

If your Moflin requires repairs, sometimes the records may be lost due to the nature of the issue. In such cases, the “Recovery” service restores your Moflin’s Journal (interaction records with Moflin) from the cloud, allowing you to continue raising Moflin from the saved state. (If the records are not lost, Recovery will not be performed and your Moflin will be returned with its data intact.) Note: To use this service, you must manually upload the latest records (Journal) from the MofLife app. If the injury prevents uploading, the latest record may not be restorable, so we recommend uploading frequently.

How do I save Journal (interaction records with Moflin) for Recovery?

To save Journal (interaction records with Moflin) for Recovery, use the “MofLife” app to manually upload them to the cloud. How to upload: 1. Tap [Journal] at the bottom right of the home screen. 2. Tap [New records available] at the bottom of the journal screen. 3. When the progress bar reaches 100% and the update screen closes, the upload is complete. Important: Do not move your smartphone or Moflin during the update.

I’m worried if my records for Recovery are properly saved. How can I check?

You can check the Recovery data by looking at the “Recovery data updated at” section in the Moflin settings of the MofLife app. Note: The date may not always match the time you tapped [New records available] in MofLife.

How can I tell if my Moflin needs Recovery?

Whether Recovery is needed will be diagnosed at the repair center after you send in your Moflin. If records are found to be lost, Recovery will be performed according to your request. (In rare cases, initial reset may be required if Recovery is not possible. For details, please check here.) If records are not lost, Recovery will not be performed and your Moflin will be returned with the data intact.

How do I request Recovery?

When applying for Clinic (Repairs), please be sure to: Enter the email address used for your CASIO ID in the “MofLife” app (enter it in the “Email address” field). Check the box for “Request Recovery” (select “Recovery” option). For details on how to apply for Clinic (Repairs), please check here.

What happens if I choose not to request Recovery when applying for Clinic (Repairs)?

If your Moflin’s records are not lost: Your Moflin will be returned with its data intact (growth days, personality, etc.). If your Moflin’s records are lost: Your Moflin will be reset to their initial state.

Are there any precautions when requesting Recovery?

About cases where Recovery cannot be performed and initialization is required: Even if you request Recovery and the repair center diagnoses that it is necessary, Recovery may not be possible and your Moflin will be reset if: You do not provide the email address used for your CASIO ID in MofLife when applying. No Journal (interaction records with Moflin) are found in the cloud. When requesting a Recovery, please be sure to check the "Recovery data updated at" in the Moflin Settings within MofLife, and make your request using the email address associated with your CASIO ID used in MofLife. About the restored data: The data restored through Recovery will reflect the status as of the "Recovery data updated at" shown in the Moflin Settings within MofLife. * Depending on when you tap [New records available] in MofLife, the date may not match exactly. For the most up-to-date restoration, we recommend uploading records frequently. * Please click here for instructions on uploading a Journal. When requesting Recovery: The owner who saved the Journal (interaction records with Moflin) must apply for Clinic (Repairs). If someone else applies, Recovery cannot be performed.
