―Privia fits naturally into my lifestyle
Griff’s musical journey began in Kings Langley, a small town on the outskirts of London. Growing up there she developed a close connection to the city, making regular visits for weekend trips or school events. “I grew up in Kings Langley, just outside of London. So, from a young age I felt connected to London, and it always felt like a special place that I would visit on weekends or during school events.”
When Griff began to seriously pursue music, moving to London felt like the natural next step.
“London is a place where you can really be yourself, but also feel part of a much bigger community. I love that. There is so much culture, music and people. It keeps you on your toes in a good way.”

Griff’s upbringing was filled with a diverse range of musical influences, thanks to her Jamaican father and Chinese mother. Surrounded by a variety of music genres such as reggae, pop and gospel, it was the piano that always stood out for her.
“My dad is Jamaican and my mum is Chinese, so there was a lot of reggae, pop, gospel—lots of different things. But the piano was always kind of mine.”
The piano has remained a constant presence in her life, especially when it comes to composing music.
“When I write, I usually start at the piano. There’s something about it that grounds me. Just playing helps me process things.”

Griff has recently integrated Privia as part of her everyday life, where it naturally fits in.
“I love how compact it is — it’s super light and easy to move around, which is great for me since I don’t have a ton of space. I also just love that it looks really cute in my house.”
Griff also noted how the touch of the keys exceeded her expectations.
“Even though it’s digital, the keys feel really expressive — like they respond to how I play, which I didn’t expect. Honestly I really like how it feels… as someone who produces a lot, you spend a lot of time on MIDI keyboards… but being able to play on keys that feel like a real piano is just so satisfying.”
The piano is not just an instrument for Griff—it is an essential part of her emotional process.
“When I write, it’s almost like therapy. It helps me understand what I’m feeling, even if I didn’t know I was feeling it. Just sitting at the piano can slow my breathing. I don’t need to play anything impressive—just being there helps reset me.”

Above all, she made it clear how she is deeply moved by the sound of the Privia.
“The sound is beautiful — really warm and clear. I was honestly surprised by how good it sounds for something so slim. Even when I’m not thinking about playing anything special, I find myself just sitting down and playing. That’s how naturally Privia fits into my lifestyle.”
