In the case of a model that supports different languages, how do I change the ClassWiz language setting?

You can use the procedure below to change the display language setting. 1. [SHIFT][MENU] (SETUP) Use the up and down cursor keys to scroll the screen until the "Language*" item comes into view. 2.Press the key that corresponds of "Language*". 3. Press the key that corresponds of the language you want to select. *Language, اللغة, 语言, 言語, Langue, Taal, Sprache, Idioma To change the language setting from Arabic to English for fx-82AR X (PDF/50.3KB) for fx-95AR X (PDF/50.3KB) for fx-570AR X and fx-991AR X (PDF/49.9KB)

When I perform a calculation on my ClassWiz Series calculator, why does the result appear as a fraction?

1. The initial default setting of the calculator is MathI/MathO. With this setting, fraction format is given priority for calculation results. ClassWiz lets you change the setting to specify decimal value format for results. Operation: Press [SHIFT] [MENU] [1] (Input/Output) [2] to change the setting to MathI/DecimalO. 2. You can also use the operation below to change the format of the displayed value after calculation is complete. ・After calculation is complete, press the [S-D] key. This switches the displayed fraction to a decimal value. Pressing [S-D] while a decimal value is displayed will switch it to a fraction value. ・During a calculation, press [SHIFT] [=] instead of [=].

Does ClassWiz support sexagesimal (degrees, minutes, seconds) and time (hours, minutes, seconds) calculation?

Yes. It is possible. The sexagesimal base number is based on the number 60. This base number is used for time and angle measurement. Time measures( 1 hour=60 minutes, 1 minute =60seconds) Casio scientific calculators can carry out time calculations as well as angle calculations . Examples: To convert the decimal value 2.258 to a sexagesimal value Key Operation: [2] [.] [2] [5] [8] [=] [ °‘‘‘ ] Displayed Result: 2° 15° 28.8° (2 hours 15 minutes and 28.8 seconds) Time calculation with sexagesimal values: 5 hours 34 minutes and 48 seconds are to be added to 8 hours 16 minutes and 51 seconds. Key Operation: [5] [ °‘‘‘ ] [3] [4] [ °‘‘‘ ] [4] [8] [ °‘‘‘ ] [+] [8] [ °‘‘‘ ] [1] [6] [ °‘‘‘ ] [5] [1] [ °‘‘‘ ] [=] Displayed Result: 13°51°39° (13 hours 51 minutes and 39 seconds) The result can be converted into decimal value. Key Operation [ °‘‘‘ ] Displayed Result: 13.86083333 During MathI/DecimalO and LineI/DecimalO calculations, the sexagesimal input results are displayed in decimal value form. You can then press [ °‘‘‘ ] to convert to sexagesimal form.

Can I input and display engineering symbols?
Also, what is the difference between engineering symbols and the [ENG] key?

The ClassWiz models below support input and display of engineering symbols. fx-991EX, fx-570EX, fx-991CN X, fx-570AR X, fx-991AR X ・ Example: To input 500k Operation: 1. [5][0][0] 2. Press [OPTN] [3] (Engineer symbol). 3. [6](k) To enable engineering notation for calculation result display, select "On" for the "Display Engineer Symbol" setting on the SETUP screen. This will cause the symbol “E” to appear on the display. Operation: 1. Press [SHIFT] [MENU] （SETUP) [4] (Engineer Symbol). 2. Press [1] and then select "On" for the "Display Engineer Symbol" setting. The [ENG] key adjusts the exponent of a calculation result by a power of 10^3.

Does ClassWiz support 3-digit separators?

Yes. On the SETUP screen, select "On" for the "Digit Separator" setting.　The initial default setting is "Off". Operation: 1. [SHIFT][MENU] (SETUP) Use the up and down cursor keys to scroll the screen until the "Digit Separator" item comes into view. 2. Press the key that corresponds to the number to the left of "Digit Separator". 3. Press [1] and then select "On" for digit separators.

Does ClassWiz have a constant calculation function?

Though it does not have a “constant calculation function” in itself, ClassWiz does support constant calculations using the simple procedures below. The ClassWiz procedures allow you to check the formula and input values as you perform the calculation. 1. Using the CALC Function You can temporarily store a formula in memory, and then perform repeat calculation. Example: To perform the following calculation: 5 x 2, x 3, x 4. Operation: Calculation Display 1. 5 [ x ] [ALPHA] [A] [CALC] 2 [=] [=] 10 2. [=] 3 [=] [=] 15 3. [=] 4 [=] [=] 20 2. Using Replay With this procedure you execute a calculation, press the [->] or [<-] cursor key to enter the editing mode, change the applicable value, and then execute again. Example: To execute 5x2 and then use the Replay function for 5x3 and 5 x 4 Operation: Calculation Display 1. 5 [ x ] 2 [=] 10 2. [<-][DEL] 3 [＝] 15 3. [<-][DEL] 4 [＝] 20
