Advanced material with functionality and design: The first EDIFICE with forged carbon
The EDIFICE line’s relentless pursuit of the interface between high-performance cars and high-end timepieces delivers a groundbreaking approach to exterior design using a state-of-the-art material. The dial of the EFK-100CD feature forged carbon embodying the functional and sophisticated aesthetics of a sports car, in a style that is distinctly EDIFICE. Even more, these timepieces are driven by the first mechanical movement in a Casio watch, powering the watch hands like a humming sports car engine.
FEATURES
Forged carbon: Sporty, functional beauty
EFK-100CD
The EFK-100CD is the first EDIFICE watch to feature forged carbon — a material also used in high-end sports cars — in its dial. By incorporating this state-of-the-art material, the design captures the sports car worldview of constantly speeding toward ever higher performance, expressed in a uniquely EDIFICE style.
Forged carbon
Originally developed in the aerospace sector and now increasingly utilized in the automotive industry, forged carbon is a composite material made by kneading carbon fiber into resin and then forging it in a press die at high temperatures under intense pressure. Delivering both high rigidity and light weight, this advanced material features beautiful, distinctive marbled patterns created in the manufacturing process.

Mechanical movement: Shown off with a see-through case back
To incorporate a drive system as passionate and dynamic as those that power sports cars, a mechanical movement has been introduced, offering a power reserve of around 40 hours and an average daily rate of -35 to +45 seconds. See-through case back design offers views of the movement in motion, offering the enjoyment of the unique charms of a mechanical watch.

Dial design: A refined look with fine detailing
The simple dial, featuring three hands and a date display, highlights the distinctive aesthetic of the forged carbon and other design elements. The hour and minute hands, with hollowed sections and phosphorescent tips, blend a sporty aesthetic with excellent visibility in the dark. The sweep-motion seconds hand glides gracefully, marking the passage of time. Details such as a mirror finish on the beveled edges of the bar indexes and a ground finish on the dial ring enhance the watch with a sophisticated sense of texture. In addition to the EFK-100CD with forged carbon dial, the lineup also includes colored dial models that replicate the texture of forged carbon using electroforming.
