G-SHOCK teams up with EVANGELION, the iconic anime series with a passionate global following, to mark the 30th anniversary of the original TV broadcast. This special edition was designed by Ikuto Yamashita, the mechanical designer behind the EVANGELION series. For this special collaboration, Yamashita created original artwork that captures the intensity of the series’ immersive world. The GA-110, also used in the first EVANGELION collaboration in 2010, serves as the base model. EVA Unit-01, the central figure of the series, appears throughout the design: its horned headgear on the short band, its face on the bezel, and its right arm gripping the Spear of Longinus — just before the throw — extending from the lower bezel to the long band. Casio’s advanced surface finishing techniques faithfully reproduce Yamashita’s detailed artwork. The watch face includes even more references for fans to appreciate. The inset dial indicator at 9 o’clock is inspired by the 3rd Angel, Sachiel. A bold Y-shaped part on the dial echoes the CAUTION pattern seen throughout the series. Other details include “NEON GENESIS” on the band loop, the NERV logo at the tip of the band, and a 30th anniversary emblem engraved on the case back. Presented in special packaging, this timepiece brings together the cutting-edge toughness of G-SHOCK and the unforgettable style of EVANGELION in an eye-catching collaboration for fans around the world. Ikuto Yamashita Ikuto Yamashita has worked as a mechanical designer for numerous anime titles, including Gunbuster, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, and the Evangelion series. He also planned, wrote, and illustrated the novel Evangelion ANIMA. In 2015 he directed the short film Ikaroid Warzone as part of the “Japan Animator Expo.” More recently, he has contributed mechanical design for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. Evangelion Series First broadcast in 1995, the TV anime Neon Genesis Evangelion became a social phenomenon in Japan. The Rebuild of Evangelion film series began in 2007 with Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, followed by 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance and 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, each achieving major success. The final installment, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, was released in March 2021, drawing 6.73 million viewers and grossing 10.28 billion yen at the box office. ©Khara
